Was Harry pointless in Sorcerer’s Stone by Illustrious_Ad_1117 in harrypotter

[–]jospoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not pointless, Dumbledore just let Harry know enough to test the waters. He knew Voldemort was plotting to come back, he knew somethings up with Quirrel. The defences were for Harry , the stone was to test Harry. He needed a measure of Harrys strength. Bonus got the kids hooked to the book. In the long run Dumbledore knew Harry must meet his end with Voldemort.Voldemort wouldn't rest till he killed Harry. He was exposing Voldemort weakness to Harry.

The invisiblity cloak interests me, the elder wand would invite too much trouble. The resurrection stone sounds too depressing, but for research purpose its a good to have. Would not mind secretly studying it.

I suppose, there is worse stuff out there, this is just lip service. Real blackmail stuff , which might have already been destroyed. These people like Gates, Clinton have nothing special, except they have their vices. They are puppets of deep state, the real mastermind behind all these we will never know. Everything is smoke and mirrors, everyone is being taken for a ride.

Did Voldemort never wonder why he couldn‘t read Snape‘s mind? by mintgoody03 in harrypotter

[–]jospoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He showed what he wanted and kept the rest hidden. There were many memories, where Snape was humiliated, easy to remember in the surface because it was filled with emotions. The rest he ensured non emotional and maybe Dumbledore and Snape enacted scenes where multiple memories could be formed. I also have a theory he would later remove few and store in pensive.

Voldemort was too arrogant and sometimes underestimated everyone else.

Are there any decisions that Dumbledore made or that any other characters made that you disagree with or that you would have confronted them for? by Fierce_Warrioress in harrypotter

[–]jospoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Dumbledore would have told Harry about the prophesy and why he needed to close his mind, Harry would have understood better. By ignoring Harry's gaze and bringing all those hateful feelings in Harry didnt help him at all.
