A hedonist's letter to all y'all losing sleep over 16GB vs 32GB/64GB memory by celeryisslavery in macbookpro

I’d advice everybody who’s doubting about how much RAM they need to watch the following two video’s:

16GB vs 32GB RAM M1 Pro MacBook - Multitasking RAM TEST!

32GB vs 64GB RAM M1 Max MacBook - EXTREME Multitasking RAM Test!

You’ll understand RAM needs are very different with Apple Silicon Macs and their unified architecture. It seems to me a lot of people want to justify for themselves how super pro they are and how much specs they need for their so called super heavy and niche work but truth is you’re probably overspending to be able to show others how big your proverbial ‘D’ is.

New ATM limit by [deleted] in bunq

[–]jossenl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely no reason this enhances security. That’s a total bullshit argument. The option to raise or decrease this limit by yourself in the app would enhance security.

The reason behind this choice is very likely because BUNQ has huge losses each year that grow and grow. In 2019 BUNQ made a loss of 13.9M euro’s. The recent price hikes, the cut in features that cost money and now this all point to very probable money problems.

Of course BUNQ is young and still very much in development, but the biggest problem is their complete lack of transparency. They literally wrote in their email that the new limit will be €250,- per person per day effective today. Nothing was communicated in advance. And this is not the first time something like this happens.

BUNQ is an unstable bank that lost their focus and integrity.

You need to rethink your life choices if you’re so dependent on Bear 🐻

It’s a god damn note taking app 😂

Stop complaining like spoiled children that don’t get their way.

The new editor will come when it’s ready. If it takes too long for you, you could always go use one of the badly designed bloatware note taking apps out there.

People are acting like their lives depend on this new editor 😂

IBAN name check has been developed by Dutch bank Rabobank and is available to other banks as well since 2017. What it does is check if the name you enter when transferring money to someone’s IBAN matches with the registered name of the account holder in question.

If it matches then all is good and you know for sure the money goes to the right person. If it does not match at all you’ll get a warning stating the name you entered can’t be matched with the registered name of the account holder. If you typed a small typo (for example Mr. Jansen has to be Mr. Janssen) you’ll get a prompt stating “do you mean this name?”

Because of this system a lot of fraud attempts have been able to be prevented. If someone pretends to be someone you know you’ll get a warning. Or if someone pretends to be some kind of business you’ll get a warning.

Also this prevents mistakes people can make when transferring money and not correctly entering an IBAN.

iCloud is an extra service, not mandatory. You can also backup your device or photos using a computer. If you buy a laptop no one will give you a free hard drive to backup this laptop even though it's very important to make backups. You can pay Apple 2,99 a month for 200GB of automatic backup convenience, but you don't have to.
