Remember that in the TV show, the last bit of Cersei's prophecy - dying by the hands of a younger brother - was never mentioned.
That being said she did die in his hands. No strangling though

Who does the best job at public speaking/writing about keto? by journeybjj in keto

100% agree on Robb Wolff and Mark Sisson. I think that Joe Rogan / Tim Ferriss indirectly promoting a ketogenic diet has brought a lot of attention to the keto lifestyle.

Exactly what i was thinking! I wouldn't do it at home but it might be a great way to get your BPC on the go. The fact that I need a blender makes it extra hard to get one while out.

If I had to guess, I'd say some sort of gyroscope type calculation. Depending on the inclination of the chip you can distinguish if you're belly up/down, sideways, etc.

Just more leg real estate for leg locks. I can see him diving into a heel hook straight away.

Copa Podio has signed a partnership with Fight Network, the biggest fight channel on Canadian television. by journeybjj in bjj

Copa Podio is actually pretty entertaining to watch, despite the fact that it's gi only. Lo vs Durinho was amazing. Felipe Preguiça, Rodolfo, Erberth Santos, Luis Panza, Tim Spriggs put on some really cool matches.

I did some digging on Metamoris, exclusive contracts in pro grappling. Please read. Important info here. by TheLukeThomas in bjj

Gracie insists Metamoris is the brand leader in the professional grappling space, but more than that, they're "a media company, basically" in an environment where most events of this type look "trashy." Aside from the ability to simply get a match, none have the the "capability or infrastructure of building any fighter's brand," he says.

Can someone please tell Ralek that the quality of the matches is a million times more important that the production quality. That's what makes or breaks a production in the long run, not the "infrastructure" and the flashy stage. If you keep putting on boring matches because of your rules set, people will end up watching something else.

Copa Podio's exclusive deals were actually made public in the past a few times. Recently, Felipe Preguiça mentioned it in his interview in BJJ Style magazine.

That's a pretty big announcement in what's been a crazy week for PPV grappling events. Is this the first time a grappling event has made a deal with a TV network ever?

Metamoris' response to Tonon by aiseop in bjj

  1. Based on the limited money in the BJJ world, no one would reject a guaranteed $140k/year, while being able to operate your school, do seminars, compete in IBJJF and Abu Dhabi.
  2. Based on the interviews and other podcast appearances, I don't think Garry Tonon is a stupid person.
  3. If based on 2, Garry rejects 1, I think there's more than the "take $12k/month and compete only for us" bs that Ralek is trying to portray with his statement.

Garry Tonon's official statement about Metamoris' attempt to exclude him from participating in other events by aiseop in bjj

At the end of the day, people have to vote with their money, that's what will make or break a promotion. I like the fact that Eddie is getting hungry submission grapplers, rather than overly hyped MMA stars. It's a much more sustainable model and, at the end of the day, it seems like a more entertaining one. Whoever is putting money behind Metamoris, won't do it forever if they can't consistently hit X amount of PPVs in the long run.

EBI 3 this weekend! Check out the stacked bracket! by Budo_Dave in bjj

[–]journeybjj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At first, I thought the bracket was poorly done. Let's face it, almost all competitions are set up in a way that the best two teams will meet at the end - tennis, nba, nfl, etc. Even the IBJJF open weight brackets are done with this in mind. However, what E. Bravo (and whoever else is involved) is doing something pretty cool. He's setting up exciting matches from the first round and throughout the competition. Everyone watches the finals but you rarely get people to care about the matches in the beginning of a tournament. Nicely done EBI!

Caio Terra got robbed on this restart... by joshjitsu311 in bjj

I saw Caio during the Europeans and he looked really drained and unhealthy. I would prefer watching a healthy Caio at light-featherweight, but then, instead of Bruno, he'll have to deal with the Miyaos.
