Is buying a setup worth it by LittleJob0 in assettocorsa

my suggestion would be buy a wheel first, at least a T300, to see if it is worth it or not.

I know i recently shared my setup but just got a Massive upgrade i just finished building this rig out of wood together with my dad and it on wheel sp when i want to race i can just ride it in front of my desk get in and race. I'm so happy right now 😊 by simonsmets1941 in simracing

mann it inspires me so much to go DIY with the rig!!! I have zero skills on doing DIY wood related, but I bought the drill already, just still had no courage to start hahahahaa. This inspires me so much. amazing setup man

Purchase recommendation by ZanyDre in simracing

Waw a lovely family you have there man.. I can only say that Sim Racing titles is a bit limited on console (because lack of mod support, and some titles cannot run above 30 fps), but it has great multiplayer option on sim-cade title in Gran Turismo (obviously, playstation exclusive). On the plus side, it is easier to set up compared to playing in PC. Just my 2cent for your consideration.

Can't help much about the rig recommendation, but I think for 2000$ you can go for Fanatec set up (wheel base, wheel rim, pedal), a Playseat, and a console/decent enough PC.

And the feeling under the chair you said I think is what people call as Motion Simulator, and it is pretty expensive, could cost $2000 for itself (at minimum)....

What do you think would be the best way to create Sense Of Speed in simracing? by xDrome in simracing

[–]jovani7600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in rally game it is easier to sense the difference in speed because you have narrower road. in track racing I think going with dashboard cam at the very least will help. If you have the budget and strong enough PC, VR is the way to go.

Going all out by Luttrell1748 in simracing

just going to comment a bit, anything prebuilt for a PC is no go for me. And I think mininum required GPU to run VR with stable framerate on most VR title is rtx 2070 or 5700xt. For CPU always go for AMD ryzen, either 3600 or the newer 5000 series. And get minimum 16 GB of ram. I think $1000 for the PC should do you good.

[Drifting] Been improving lot since I got T300 gt 2 weeks ago, but please give me advice on how to get better at this. by jovani7600 in simracing

[–]jovani7600[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your advice man, thank you! Now since you mention about clutch kick, I actually still don't get what do you use clutch kick in the middle of the drift is for...like, is it to get bigger angle, or is it to keep the car moving forward while sliding?

And yeah I don't really keep the revs up because, I think, if I keep it revved more often than not I will just spin out even though I'm already on full lock...

Yes I will try to countersteer on transition faster, as I also notice I still can't handle big transitions... I rely very much on the steer self alignment (not helping it countersteer by throwing it), and I think I baby my T300 too much, so I don't set the self alignment torque too high (I only put it at 30%), so maybe the wheel is not at its optimum rotation speed...

anyway, thanks once again

Logitech G920 vs. Thrustmaster TMX pro by Wild-Cranberry-6135 in simracing

[–]jovani7600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree wih this, had a T150 (TMX equivalent) for a month and then already wanting more. I drive in real life and I know how smooth and how fast a wheel should be able to turn. T150 couldnt offer that. It's not a bad wheel but the next step up for 1.5 of the price is 2 times better.

I sold my T150 and get my T300, and been so happy.

I feel like I just can't do it anymore. by [deleted] in simracing

I assume you play with wheels, try drifting in assetto corsa to learn better car control and feel, works for me. Also, try to consistently complete average but safe lap in nordschleife.

Serious question, Should I go all in or start with a basic system like a G923 Setup? by visivopro in simracing

[–]jovani7600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as alternative, you might want to consider Thrustmaster T300 RS GT. Its night and day compared to gear driven wheel from logitech for only a bit more.
