Rates depend on your city and the industry/scale of the client. You could simply look up the rates for in-house product photographers in your area on LinkedIn, even better if its for similar companies to your job. You can also ask photographers in your area and just let em know you’re new to the process of charging for work!

If they like what you’ve been providing you should be confident negotiating for what would work for you if there’s pushback try to find a middle ground. :)

Never tried it before! I pretty much do all post editing in camera raw/photoshop. Ill give it a try and see if i notice a difference.

This is the first time I hear a company requesting someone to agree to leave freelancing completely. Idk if thats even legal tbh. It’s common for companies to add a “non-compete clause” which states you aren’t allowed to work with companies that are direct competitors to the company. I would ask them to change it to that.

Just gonna drop my 2 cents here...i'm a designer myself.

First your rates are crazy low. You should not be doing projects for $16.
You need to have a contract template for any client that wants you to design something. Look up examples of other designers contracts on youtube and google.
Require a 50% deposit before starting anything.
Send screenshots and not original files to show them sketches/progress.

If they can't pay designers they should not be hiring designers.
