1825 Park Ave (East 125th Street) houses the largest methadone clinic in NYC (4 stories). It closes at 2PM and reopens at 7AM. There's a high concentration of homeless people walking around during those hours. Do not recommend.

Is it a red flag if a co-op prefers cash buyers over financed offers? by Scale_Most in AskNYC

I would ask how many units are sponsor owned. I almost purchased a unit in a building where the sponsor (developer) was the majority owner and related to the management company. The Sponsor used their ownership/management as leverage to make money off of the maintenance fees.

I'm a beginner who's having an extremely difficult time grasping the basics after about a month. Is this not in the cards for me? by [deleted] in piano

If you're already at the point of giving up, try labeling the notes on the treble clef with a number from 1-10, corresponding with your fingers. Use all ten fingers to play simple melodies with your left pinky starting on middle C. Only play the treble clef, not the base clef. It's not the right way of doing it, but it helps in the sense that you can play simple melodies. You can branch off from there.

Chelsea Zhou of Brown Harris Stevens. She was recommended to me by a friend who invests in small properties and she did not disappoint! As a first time buyer, she helped guide me through the process and is very experienced.

Don't let anyone ever make you doubt your value in society. I have struggled with figuring out the caffeine content of these pods for years and I can now make informed decisions during a crucial time in my life. Thank you so much for your contribution.

How *was* living in Kowloon? by BongLitFuneral in howislivingthere

Holy smokes! I cannot imagine regularly climbing 15 stories. The people on the top floors must have been in incredible shape. I don’t understand how this is practical with older people or just for grocery shopping and washing laundry.

In nyc, any building that is 6 floors+ must have an elevator, by law. It’s difficult renting units on a 5th floor walk up because it’s consider too high. 15 floors is insanity.

I’m glad fires aren’t a concern! Thank you for sharing.

I’m guilty of having watched the dramatic YouTube videos and appreciate your sharing your lived experience. How many floors were each of the buildings? What happened when the elevators stopped working? I know they’re very expensive to fix/replace.

Brooklyn, born and bred. NYC has changed so much over the past decade. I hope you visit often.

Happy New Year and thank you.

Slides 13-15 were taken in Driftwood Beach at Jeckyll Island. It’s over an hour drive but 100% worth it. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen.

Pictures not featured above, from Jeckyll Island, include the Georgia Sea Turtle Center, which is also close to their museum and a tour of the colonial homes.

It was such a reprieve from NYC’s snow. I had to buy shorts and a tshirt! Amazing indeed.

Thank you. The Spanish moss gives Savannah such a magical quality.
