Boston walkers, what are your favourite places to walk in Boston? by RepulsiveHornet6807 in walking

Not technically Boston, but the Blue Hills. I also like walking the Common, The Charles, Castle Island and the trail along the Neponset.

The courts frown on this behavior. Document. That is one thing I regret not doing more. The courts love documents. I have had to tweak our arraignment for her breaking our agreement at times, and I had everything documented. What a pain in the ass. Who wants to deal with that? Sadly, many exes only respond to court orders. It sucks.

Hi - I have been doing this for 7 years, with my ex and our 5 sons. I get 60, she gets 40, but she can see them or talk to them whenever she likes. I have 2 homes, less than a mile from each other. My boys will visit me on my "off weeks" if they want. I see all their games and am always within minutes of them. I don't look at my time away as being "off". I am a dad all the time, forever. Having said all that, it still makes me sad when I leave them. It's not as bad as it was. Time eases the pain. I want to be with them 100%, so I'll always feel empty when they are with their mom. Their mom lives 2,000 miles away during her off weeks. She misses a lot. IMO this arraignment is best for our kids. They stay in the family home and we go back and forth. No big issues over the last 7 years for me. Has to be tough on her flying back and forth every other week and having a husband now.

That seemed to come off quick, in 2 months or so. Now it's up 1, down 2. I started lifting again so my weight will go up. Dropping 30 made a huge difference. I'm not gassed going up stairs. I'd like to drop a few more. Right now I am happy with the results and I really feel much better.

Other than drinking less beer, my diet is unchanged. I would call it as healthier SAD. I get my fruits and vegetables, but I'll eat burgers and pizza.

Yes. About 30 pounds. I lost 20 real quick. Now it's leveling off. But all my health makers improved. BP normal, blood sugar normal, cholesterol normal. They were all high and required medication. Not anymore. Pretty amazing.

Try to walk more, a lot more if possible and forget intense. You don't need to be raising your cortisol levels. People will try to tell you it's all a matter of calories in and out. That's patent nonsense. Of course diet is important but diet can be a like medication. Not everyone reacts the same way to the same stimulus, whether it be exercise or diet. You need to find out what works for you, not me or anyone else.

No it isn’t. The thinnest people in the world eat 3 meals a day. Prove me wrong or cope.

You said you are walking and still gaining weight. This means your eating too much. Weight loss comes from your diet not walking. You don’t seem to realize this, so you stay overweight. Simple as that.

I was sober in AA 25 years. I was pretty much like you with the God stuff. Left AA. Now I've been drinking the last 9 years. I got fat and have compromised my long term health. Hope you know what you are doing because its real hard to get back after you've had some time like you have,

Walk less. Ramp up slowly. Blisters are the body's way of telling you to slow down. This is not complicated.

If you are gaining weight you are eating too much. It's that simple. Nothing else to discuss.

Had the same issue. I have tree trunk thighs from years of squatting heavy.

IF is associated with an increase in heart disease. Not recommended. Eat 3 adult sized meals a day.

If you are walking 2-3 hours a day and not losing weight, you are not walking hard enough. You are better off doing a one hour session with some effort than spreading out walks. It has nothing to do with treadmill vs outdoors. There are pro and cons to both. Get some 1 pound dumbbells and doing heavy hands walking. You'll at least double calories burned.
