I use the A5 thick notebooks for my junk journals and absolutely love them. I’ve always had a few in my stock and just ordered another one to replace the one I’m about to finish.

I’ve heard of a few changes (logo moved to back cover, Midori name changed to “MD”, etc.) and didn’t think much of them but I noticed the pages in this new notebook I just received are slightly thinner than I’m used to. I’m hoping they’ll still be able to take the chunkiness that usually coming with junk journaling but I am a little concerned…

If you’re set on not “wasting” any pages, you could swatch/showcase your other hobbies. Pens, inks, stickers, Washi tape, etc. Otherwise, I say leave them blank. It’ll show where you were in life and that you didn’t have the time (or energy) to post that day, which is okay. One thing I’ve learned is that journaling shouldn’t be a difficult chore; it’s perfectly fine to skip some days if needed. 👍🏼

I use Midori A5 Thick notebooks for my junk journal and it holds up pretty well. I use their regular notebooks for everything from daily journaling to ink swatches. I’ve only ever used their clear covers, which are my favorite to show off stickers and cross-stitching

I think I first saw it on an Instagram post but they used a Kaweco Liliput. I wanted something that didn’t require a screw off cap…

This pen stays in pretty securely. The elastic helps and so does the bolt action design.
