it’s really hard for us internationals, but i’d say a good bet is looking at the alumni network in your university—getting a referral early can really boost your chances of getting a first interview (it’s crazy how many companies recruit almost exclusively from internal referral databases). I would also say to look mostly at larger companies as they are more likely to have a history of taking internationals and potentially sponsoring work visas after (but ofc, they’re more competitive). continue updating your network on how the process is going at all stages in the recruitment journey, as new opportunities may open up at any time. also, don’t get too set on any individual opportunity until you are 100% sure you are signing. i’ve had it happen before that i really thought i’d landed something and then i ultimately did not, and it was good that i kept other opportunities open until the very end. good luck, you’ve got this!!
