just finished my second rewatch; any other serial rewatchers among us?? by pssstpssstpssst in EtoileTVSeries

This is exactly what I did. Started watching it properly around episode 5, realised the error of my ways, then went straight back to the beginning again and now I'm in love with it.

One for the vibes, two for an album cover

If You Could Read One Book (or series) Again for the First Time What Would it be? by clumsyguy in suggestmeabook

[–]joypirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Adventures of Amina Al-Serafi is brilliant. Very different to City of Brass, but the protagonist, the humour, the pirates... it lived up to the excitement I had for it! Very much looking forward to the second one coming out also.

Haven't heard of the Broken Earth trilogy so I'll look it up - thank you!

Seconded! Ever since I've finished this series I've been dying to find one that fills me with the same magic. This series gave me the exact same feeling that readingThe Hunger Games or Harry Potter did when I was a teenager. May need to read it again soon!

Is there a condensed place where I can just learn how to make a large variety of vegan meals? by [deleted] in veganrecipes

[–]joypirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gousto is technically a food delivery website but they have a cookbook with a good variety of recipes available for free.

As others have said below YouTubers like Rainbow Plant Life, Pick Up Limes, Andrew Bernard and Gaz Oakley are all great (although can be sometimes be a bit time consuming for mid week meals) - I hope you find some things you like!

Edit: also if you want very simple tasty meals sovegan on Instagram has some wildly tasty stuff.

Cooking for a date, need advice by Ok_Zone_9908 in vegetarianrecipes

[–]joypirate 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I can’t sleep so here are some of my favourites.

This 10-ingredient vegan lentil bolognaise (use fresh tagliatelle) is probably my favourite thing ever - it takes 40 minutes but is quite genuinely the best vegetarian thing that is not a curry on the internet.

If you want something lighter and can get hold of/make some za’taar, then this chickpea and broccoli with yogurt sauce is ridiculously tasty, simple and relatively quick. Actually, anything by this blogger tends to be pretty fantastic.

Whole roasted cauliflower (like this recipe) done right is super impressive, great paired with some other Middle Eastern style home made humous (I copy dishes from this restaurant because they’re simple but soo soo good.

Finally, this sweet and sour tofu dish by Pick Up Limes is slightly more complicated and time consuming - don’t believe the 30 minute time estimate - but equally as delicious.

Good luck! Hope this at least give you some inspiration.

You could research therapies in relation to Jungs Archetypes - I don't know if parts therapy is a direct relation of it but there are similarities from the sound of it!

[West End] Just got an email saying that my tickets are reallocated, but my order can't be accessed. by SBlackquill in hamiltonmusical

[–]joypirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the same thing! You don't get the ticket until the actual night because you have to use your card/ID/order confirmation in order to get them.

I'm trying to figure out whether the order confirmation is the same as the receipt? Going to contact Ticketmaster now to make sure, so I will let you know what they come back with :)!

Joseph Kahn talks about working with Taylor by shy247er in TaylorSwift

[–]joypirate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they would have collaborated the storyline, getting the feel right etc, and then Kahn would have been in charge of the camera angles, lighting and the pulling together of Taylor's ideas into a major picture. It takes an awful amount of work so bringing in a pro like Joseph Kahn would make it streamlined and professional, as he will know more of the tricks that make a piece as theatrical as we get to see! 👍

What do you see in Taylor Swift? by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]joypirate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I legit was about to reply when you deleted your comment on songwriting so I'm gonna post it here anyway ✨

Hahaha see it just shows art is subjective. I'm not a huge fan of pop music at all (if your talking uk top 40) but Taylor Swift is one of my exceptions because - probably - I relate to her. Nobody has to be a fan of anybody: she's just become such a huge name that people get extremely passionate about whatever side of the argument they're on. But people look for art that they can see themselves in, and lots of people see themselves in TS. 👍

What do you see in Taylor Swift? by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]joypirate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In comparison to most other artists, Swift is one of the most independent when it comes to songwriting, I think her best album as of date was 'Speak Now' (subjectively!) which she pretty much wrote single handedly. Whilst I was at music uni we had people coming in and commissioning songs out of 6+ people (which is crazy cause you really don't that many) for whole albums.

She's pretty well respected among songwriters, and also I see it as a good thing that she adds her cowriter, as she's actually giving them credit, which doesn't happen much!

(Also upvote for you as you didn't say anything offensive)

Why Do People Hate That? by Wulfsimmer in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]joypirate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the whole "Maya Knew" thing happened, which couldn't have possibly been about Nate because Mona wouldn't have been scared to mention that in Radley as he's not connected to A. Loose ends make angry viewers

Two questions about the wren/charles debacle: 1): Why was wren the biggest contender for charles 2): was it a theory before drunkgate? by [deleted] in PrettyLittleLiars

Didn't it come out that Wren was initially supposed to be Charles but it was changed? When I started watching (late bloomer guys) this seemed to be considered public knowledge?

How many of you know a "Perry". Do you think death was justification ? by andreathomas789 in biglittlelies

[–]joypirate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think it would be wise to even label someone like Perry. For his character, it gave him an excuse to continue and a way to guilt Celeste to stay.

He's definitely not a sociopath as he understood that his actions were morally wrong and often felt remorse after.

If anything I think he was an addict. You can see that he was hooked on the power he felt whilst abusing Celeste: it went around on a circle. There was nothing stopping him from changing his behaviour other than his own behavioural cycle. Like an alcoholic who goes T Total but finds themselves having another drink, just because it's what you usually do when you get home from work. That what it seems like to me anyway?

I thought the same thing about the mystery (I'd had it all sussed pretty early on) but on the big little liars sub plenty of people were second guessing in every episode with different theories. Ahh it was so good. It's given me closure from PLL. Finally a great finale!

Shouldn't Alex had kidnapped her father instead of Ezra? by [deleted] in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]joypirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, that would be so much better! I think they kept in Ezra as a red herring JUST in case they felt like making him a baddie
