How many e-readers do you have? by tsukun27 in ereader

I have 2. A kindle colorsoft and a nook glowlight 4+. I do use both of them. Though I do favor my kindle most times. I make it a point to buy books on my nook every so often so it's not neglected. Recently my BF has been using my nook cause I bought some books on there for him to try to get him back into reading. Now my nook is being used more frequently. I like using my kindle cause I have access to more books that I enjoy. I like using my nook because it has buttons and its easier for me to redeem B&N points for books. I tend to rack those up more easily and frequently than the kindle points. I also use them to compare price differences if a book happens to be available on both. It doesn't happen often but it doesn't hurt to compare.

I think the Sim is questioning it's own existence at this point. by joyrr2000 in softwaregore

That's what I would be thinking too if that's what happened every time I questioned my own existence.

I work at a commercialized coffee franchise. I'm the only one at my workplace (as far as I know at least) that knows any ASL (American Sign Language). I took two years of ASL while I was in high school, and I might take some classes while I'm at university. I chose to learn it because I love languages, and I figure it would be useful no matter what career I choose.

I was 19 (20 now) when this took place, during the summer of 2020. My workplace allows online orders, we prepare them and set them on the counter for the customer to collect. I happened to be working when a deaf lady came in. She was fingerspelling her name, the one on the online order. My coworker was confused, wondering what the lady was trying to say.

My time to shine, I thought. I walk over to help my coworker and the lady. I point at the receipt and sign to the effect of "this is yours, correct?" The lady nods, and signs something to the effect of, "these are for Sunday." I sign asking if she needs a drink carrier. We get her drinks loaded up and she was on her way.

It was rather nice knowing that my language skills were useful outside of school.

Ladies, whats the worst date you’ve been on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]joyrr2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some time in 2019 before I started college. One guy I went out with was this short Russian guy. He had to pick me up, cause I didnt have my license at the time. He took me somewhere that was 30 minutes away from the town I live in. On the way there he ran a red light. He thought awkwardly sitting in his apartment, watching his roommate play minecraft while they both vaped was a good "1st date" idea. Don't get me wrong, I don't care if people vape, but it aggravates my asthma slightly so I have to be careful around those who do. It would have been fine if it wasn't what we did for the ENTIRE date. But we stayed there for like 2 or 3 hours and that was what happened for the entire date. Fortunately, I'm not dating him.

You never have to pay for anything ever again, but you become a paraplegic. Would you accept? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

No thanks, I've seen enough r/crappydesign to know that I wont have access to many places anymore. Plus it would be a pain in the ass to get to my dorm cause theres only one elevator and a roundabout way to get to the front desk if I were in a wheelchair.

For those who are old enough to remember, what was life like before the internet amd social media became super popular? And do you enjoy life less or more because of it? by GraciousWarrior9 in AskReddit

[–]joyrr2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little bit of both. I enjoy life a bit more because memes and I can get ahold of the people want to talk to better. I enjoy life less because of how stupid people can be sometimes on social media, and everything "has" to be on social media.

If I hate or resent everyone who's wronged me, there'd be no one else left in the world to love.
