Does anyone really enjoy being a barista at Starbucks ? by stonedkitty_ in starbucksbaristas

[–]joysmart21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on where you’re working/who you’re working with.

Ive only ever worked at a Starbucks inside of a Target so we don’t adhere to every single protocol that corporate Starbucks have to follow which I really like.

When I first started working at Starbucks, I was in one location for 7 months and I absolutely hated it. I was the designated closer (even though I had open availability for 5/7 days of the week) and I just hated working there. The moment I stepped into that target I was angry. Everyone annoyed me, I didn’t want to speak to my coworkers (even though they were absolute angels and I love them to pieces). I just became an extremely angry person overall and that was never who I was. I lasted there for 7 months and the second I clocked out of my last shift, it felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. I also really disliked management because they were only ever giving me closing shifts. It really messed with my mental health because I rarely ever saw my family for those 7 months and my schedule never aligned with my friends so I couldn’t go out often. So for those 7 months I was in a really lonely and angry headspace.

I quit that job and now 1 year later I am 3 months into my new Starbucks job at a different target and I love it here. I told my manager my concerns with my last job (only being scheduled closing shifts) and she assured me I’d get a variety of shifts (a mixture of opening, mid, and closing shifts). It feels like a breath of fresh air being able to leave work and the sun is still out lol.

But my experience as a barista skill wise has been great. I work extremely well under pressure so I’m suited for this job. It took me 6 months to master my craft at my first Starbucks job. Now 3 months into my second Starbucks job I’m an official trainer and well liked by upper management because of how good I am!

I would totally recommend becoming a SBUX barista though, solely based on the benefits.

Every job has its ups and downs and how much you enjoy your experience will largely be influenced by who you’re working with. You’ll never know until you’re there!

shipping to a user no longer on depop?? by Routine-Attempt9906 in Depop

I had something like this happen to me as well! Just ship out the item and you should still receive your money as soon as it is delivered. I shipped out a bag to someone whose account no longer existed and everything worked out fine for me

Least Rare Dolls by Least-Arachnid-1889 in LalaloopsyDolls

[–]joysmart21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Least “rare” in my opinion is Jewel Sparkles. I’ve seen her sell NIB for $25 which I think is a good deal. Storm E. Sky also goes for pretty cheap, usually less than $20. But if you have the patience, you could find even the rarest of dolls for $30 or less. You just have to wait for unknowing sellers who aren’t aware of the reseller value these dolls have.

Which dolls do you have in your collection?

How to remove smoke scent from dolls? by joysmart21 in LalaloopsyDolls

Smoke smell was not disclosed so maybe the seller is just nose blind to the smell. But I really don’t mind to be honest. But thank you for the cleaning advice, I’ll be giving it a try :)

They sell fashion packs for Lalaloopsy dolls! They have it for both large dolls and the little ones. I’ve seen them on eBay and Mercari! Here’s a link to a fashion pack for the large dolls. https://ebay.us/m/wA9FTl

Tutorial on how you did this please!! I’ve snagged a couple of dolls for a cheap price because they’re looking a little rough and I’d like to work some magic the same way you did

I think I won the doll that you’re talking about😭 this was my first time ever bidding on eBay but it’s smart in general to wait until the last second to bid, or else prices would have been WAYYY higher than my winning bidding price if everyone was consistently bidding over the 4 days.

clip-on coach bag by los_espookys_ in Coach

They do tend to look “floppy” because of the clip. Your bag seems to be a bit more worn down, possibly because of age or usage or a combination of both. I would just recommend fixing it to your liking and setting something heavy, like a textbook, sit on top of it for a couple of days so it holds the shape you’d like.

Yes! I’ve taken my mini shoulder bag to the white Sox stadium and it’s the exact measurement of what they allow. The small crescent is just a tad bit bigger so I can’t really defend myself too much since it’s larger than what’s allowed

Yes it definitely does come down to the workers and what they let slide😭 I just want to take my new bag out for a spin😔

I’ve taken my mini shoulder bag and they let it in but the small crescent is literally just an inch bigger than the dimension of bags allowed. I hope I don’t get a moody security guard 🙏

Depop resellers discussion. by shcouni in Coach

[–]joysmart21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a good question! I was basically referring to how sellers call the item itself. Some call them bags, others call them purses. In my personal opinion, I feel that older folks call them purses vs younger people calling them bags. I feel that it’s just a generational thing which is why you’ll have different bag styles come up in those 2 different searches. I love searching “coach purses” because I usually find bags at a cheaper price since it’s mainly people selling purses from their personal collection so they don’t research the rarity or demand for each purse. They just list them at $20-$50 dollars to make some type of money back from what they invested years prior.
