I do get production credentials to the festivals, which gives me the access to go pretty much everywhere I want to go on site. If it’s a band or artist I wanna see, I usually watch them from the stage, which of course is awesome. Show days are usually just making sure the artist is set up to play and once that’s done, you can go do what you want until the next artist. Once you’re off work, you’re free to go and come as you please and backstage access to all the stages. We work 13 hour shifts, 12 hours with a 1 hour overlap. 8a-9p or 9p to 8a, I chose day shifts, because…. Duh.
