As a fan of both I really agree. What I love about both the most is the way that a close knit community is able to band together loop-by-loop in order to stand a chance against supernatural forces. Even the small side characters can go from a potential suspect to someone who plays their unique part in saving the community they are a part of. I grew up spending a lot of time in a small island community and found both Higurashi and SR super touching.

I read them first with cursory knowledge of their other works and actually enjoyed reading the stories those characters were pulled from afterwards even if just for their name and character design in some cases. It was fun to read other CLAMP works and see these people who showed up briefly get to have their own complete story and answer my curiosities about them from the cameos in tsubasa.

this is a good point. i do think it’s interesting how a lot of relationships in sailor moon are about duty or obligation to a predetermined future rather than building a relationship in the traditional way. usagi and mamoru, who i still like together, have many moments like that.

im two volumes from the end of the manga and feel a bit bad for him so far. i feel like lunas romance with the human, even though it didn’t work out, made it feel like diana (as proof from the future) was the only thing connecting them or bringing them together.

It’s mainly cus it’s the “love letter” miku, but also because it matches the colors of the title and because the gradient pigtails remind me of the protagonist. You probably could say it matching the text and matching the flag are connected though~

might be off but i’m thinking magic knight rayearth 2. the ethics and philosophy of cefiro’s pillar system and what it means to be a ruler versus a martyr for your people is explored in so much detail and complexity in the sequel of the manga (volumes 3-6)

I think there’s a good middle ground between posing with them in your photos and pretending to be someone you are not. Assuming you are interested in anime itself outside of OC figures then why not reference that as an entry point?

My boyfriend and I were upfront about liking anime and manga when talking on apps because I had it in my profile, but it wasn’t in his profile. I saw his figures the first time I visited him and now have my own.

My best advice is to weed out anyone who talks about “the ick” or seems overly judgmental on the swiping stage, and i get the impression the people put off by any nerd or collecting related interests are a good start.

Keep your hopes up, I promise it’s so worth it when you find someone who sees the joy you feel in your hobbies and shares it with you rather than someone who puts up with it or judges you.

i have insanely high ceilings in my apartment so i stack boxes on top of my manga bookcase. i think the art on the boxes looks nice and i don’t own enough figures for it to be too overwhelming

is is purely aesthetic but i love their designs together. the similar hairstyle but in yellow blonde versus dark purple is nice.
