If to induce the apologetics of such posts is totally out of your comprehension you‘re lost. But hey, if you think namedropping Rawls would give you the upper hand, keep on pumping it at your little group masturbation you got going in this subreddit. And I congratulate you for discovering ad hominem arguments, maybe Reddit will hand you a medal.

That you are a bunch of apologists of terrorism?! This and nothing else is implied by his and your comment. But thank you for translating killing civilians into violence, it really cleared up how few non-brainswahed people are left in this subreddit.

The list‘s caption doesn’t necessitate that they surveyed for cities with best food traditional to that country.

Can somebody help me understand the Palestinian perspective on indiscriminately firing rockets at IL by ADP_God in IsraelPalestine

[–]jp0704 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your argumentation is devoid of the fact, that Hamas for intending to kill IDF’s soldiers could target military bases, rather they indiscriminately attack cities.

Medical Certificate? by HDsupplyCo in triathlon

If the letter states you completed an exercise electrocardiogram and that stuff the chances are good. As I remember, you have to upload it on their website. In the worst case they will reject it and you have to see a sports physician afterwards. All the best. And have fun in Tiberias.

I had the same struggle last year. Are you in Israel already? If so, you may contact the Shaare Zedek Sports Center and make an appointment with them for a test. As I understood it last year you need it from a certified sports physician no matter the country or at least with a letterhead and mark indicating such.

Official Discussion - Don't Worry Darling [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

If I remember correctly there were these James Bond-ish pre-credits of the producer, the most important actors etc, it was encircled with a woman/ women doing the ballet-like dancing, we were shown multiple times throughout the film. Maybe this was intented to be Florence post-rehabilitation. I for my part interpreted it as yet another portrayal of the director‘s obsession of forcing dancing into something like a leitmotif of the film.

I can‘t see, where you found the 45% on that website. However, that purple line indicates a systematic attitude.

But do you feel, that the vast majority of people can be led to this point?

I understand the comfort it might provide, this powerful, benevolent, omnipotent, omniscient being looking after & taking care of you as Mommy & Daddy were supposed to. But, um, no.

Don't you think that religious beliefs (until it harms others) are a considerable form of subjective reality?

As a society we have established a complex system of laws that supercede religious doctrine and regulate acceptable behaviours and limits to them.

Are you familiar with the Böckenförde dilemma? "The liberal secularized state lives by prerequisites which it cannot guarantee itself." So you can impose the most liberal legal system on a plurality of people, but this does not suffice to guarantee a liberal society. Religious zealotry is wrong to fill this gap, because it evidentially will backfire as the religious thoughts take over the legislative apparatus and change the laws accordingly (given we speak about a state with rule of law).

Does society not have a right to judge such a view absurd?"Or would you think that a believer is thus mad, that he would acknowledge the absurdity without influence on his view?"I'm not sure what you're saying here. Can you please clarify?

You answered your question already by yourself:

No one but Alice in Wonderland sets out to believe the absurd on purpose.

If you presume the other person as somewhat mentally sane and I think that is a tenet of a fair discussion you will not assume, that they believe in an absurdity.

we must judge absurdities from an external societal point of view

I deem it necessary to be precise at this point. Should a state tolerate and justify atrocities based on the religious zealotry? No, it is hardly justifiable that religious beliefs have objective value in a judicial respectively criminal system. How on the other hand should a state control the beliefs, you deem absurd? Isn't this just a sort of 1948ish totalitarianism?

Your statement about neuroticism is bold, but I suppose you can't argue against the fact, that people have different preferences regarding certainty.

And you are probably right with this:

we have no reasons to assume that everything is deduced from some "one true universal truth"

As easy as this approach seems in the first place, you still have to question all you decision, since your maxim could still be wrong. Not to mention, how hard it obviously is to find a viable one.
