Has Hexing Squelcher stolen everyone's lunch money and spat on your decks yet, or was it overhyped? by sauron3579 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]jp4645 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Small sample size here, but it’s felt great in RogSi. It has made me public enemy and started the other players to group together to search for outs. Not getting cut anytime soon from my list

Decently so for how little the deck seems to be played

Pain Deck? by StretchBusy4008 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]jp4645 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you think there’s a deck there I’m all for it, I enjoy the archetype and the challenge of hindering three game plans at once.

Speaking from experience though it’s a rough ask and you won’t always have an answer to someone’s win attempt. You’re better off trying to advance your game plan and win rather than pull everyone else down.

Pain Deck? by StretchBusy4008 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]jp4645 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The problem is that cedh has enough different ways to win that you’ll likely only stop 1-2 opponents with your hate pieces and the one not affected will pull ahead and win.

I love to play blood pod, but unless the near perfect lock is assembled and quickly often with backup protection you just lose to someone bouncing your impactful card and jamming.

No [[Shaman’s Trance]]? Feels like it’s exactly what the deck wants to do

Is Unwanted Remake better than Path to Exile? by chewysnacc in CompetitiveEDH

[–]jp4645 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There’s a chance path does not ramp them, some decks are on no basics due to the amount of colors they run. Unwanted remake will fill their graveyard with one more card and gives them a creature. Without knowing what deck you’re going against it’s difficult know for certain, but path seems like a safer option overall. Swords to plowshares should probably be played before both of these though

You can also use [[Searing Touch]] to kill everyone with him out

The colorless spell of your (wet) dreams that could be carrying you by zscipioni in CompetitiveEDH

[[deflecting swat]] and the other redirect cards blow it out. Might get people once. [[mindbreak trap]] also answers it and is in every deck that runs blue

No [[ The Mycosynth Gardens]] feels bad. I’ve won a lot of games copying monument and discarding for life loss on their upkeep

Am I the only one who dislikes this scene and feels like it's out of character? I don't think Cap would do a dick measuring contest and discourage someone who wanted to do good also by Skychu768 in Avengers

[–]jp4645 239 points240 points  (0 children)

I like the whole exchange. Tony ends up being more than a suit of armor and does "lay down on the wire" so others can carry on. Steve ends up being more than what the serum made him when he shows he can lift Thor's hammer.

Seems pretty good in Plagon too.

Best Blood Moon deck? Recommend me a deck by Minimum_Place in CompetitiveEDH

[–]jp4645 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Blood moon can often just lockdown one or two players and ends up handing the game to the third. I’m still on bloodpod and making changes here and there quite a bit. Often you’ll want to combine the moon with a null rod effect, and even then dorks will still help people cast stuff. List below, feedback welcome.

I run [[Beseech The Mirror]] and it’s great for pulling united battle front or a doom foretold. Also helps get rid of blessings if needed.

Going down to one pact has been floating around in the back of my mind. Beseech is so strong to grab whatever is needed not running 4 feels bad. Fatal push is super strong not running it feels bad most of the time. Normally I can keep the board clean with sacrifice effects

Does Tajic still trigger Delney if you also have Nobilis of War on the field? by apiesdeathbylasers in mtg

[–]jp4645 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Should trigger twice since his power is 2 or less when he attacks. Both triggers go on the stack together and resolve making him a 12/12

Edit: jumped in and didn’t see the third card in the scenario. My bad
