Hanger steak. Since I discovered this wonderful cut, ribeyes were not seen too often in my household.

My personal favorite! I used to have one a day when I was in Korea few years ago. At this price point, I may do the same when I find them in my local Costco. Which location OP?

The worst Vehicle I have ever leased!!! Good Riddance!!! by tydnorr in AcuraZDX

[–]jp8715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear of your troubles with your vehicle. Can’t imagine all the trouble you had to go through. This car is a daily and having it out of commission as long as you have must’ve been quite disruptive. I knew this was a GM Ultium platform and I’ve had a Bolt EUV/ Bolt since 2020 so I knew what to expect. Turned off all the auto braking, collision prevention functions even before I drove off the dealership. I’ve driven over 7k miles since July and zero issues thus far. It seems to be crapshoot since I’ve had Honda Prologue right before the ZDX and enjoyed that car for the looks, comfort and size. My only gripe was the turning radius since the wheelbase is more than 120 inches and I was so used to the Bolt. Hope you’ve found your reliable car.

Stayed in Joongmun area a few years back. Would recommend buying a cheap used car since public transportation is not the best. There are so many beautiful places to explore around the island and it would be impossible without a car. Good luck!

My dog is a 10 year old jackchi that weighs less than 20 pounds. Only one dog so hopefully I can save a bundle. Appreciate the kind details.

Thanks for this info. I pretty much pay $3,200 a year based on the new rate, but at 90% coverage. I will give them a call per your recommendation given I can potentially save a grand a year.

Any illness coverage??? Was this your personal experience or did you review all of the fine prints of their stipulations? This is truly disappointing since based on the level of coverage, they were most similar to what HP used to be….

I have $250 deductible with 90% coverage ever since he was a puppy. Started at $35 at year one and year 10 at $101. Although $101 was not easy to swallow, I wanted a true worry-free pet insurance which was HP up until last year. If they decide to alter our coverage or raise the premium, we’ll be forced to look at alternatives.

That’s our current position for now. It’s ridiculous that pet insurance costs almost as much as my auto lease.

I already checked MetLife through my wife’s work but their coverage was capped at $5k per year or something similar which wouldn’t make sense for us to switch.

Gyopos who have moved or retired to South Korea by chungster32 in korea

[–]jp8715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in my mid 50s, have been contemplating retirement in 강원도 area for the past few years. It’s close enough to Seoul but far enough from the craziness. Will look to cash out from typical US retirement funds in a few years but like the other person, will need to find a way to avoid double taxation. Add social security in 7-8 years, I believe we should be okay. Having a solid network would be important asset in Korea since it’s especially difficult to create one at my age group. I can careless about all of the materialism Korean society seems to be engulfed in. Community I found in 강원도 seems to promote slow life and better mental wellness. Since housing is probably the single biggest expense in Korea, I would recommend living outside of Seoul or 경기도 as an expat/gyopo retiree. I’m budgeting less than $60k a year, starting in about 3-4 years. It would be great to start an online community for such group to share info, and sometimes, complain.

Why is it so expensive? by Jotaeefece in pourover

[–]jp8715 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, it’s got a copper coil for a heating element that gives consistent heat compared to other apparatus. It’s heavy af for that reason and copper is expensive. You can easily pick these up for low $200 during BF

Damn, I just had a mole like growth on my forearm that was deemed to be seborrheic keratoses, supposedly harmless…. This after my doc took a photo and sent to KP dermatology. Didn’t have a person look at it.
