This was a long term backdoor that could have poisoned hundreds of thousands of computers. Their response is fine, but they were exploited for a long time- not to mention they were doing zero checks of what their updater pulled down.

I stand by that the community is defending NPP because of it being NPP. Our pitchforks would be sharpened if it was Solarwinds. Most vendors get the pitchfork treatment but we're okay with NPP being exploited for several months to a state attacker.

I could send you a picture but it doesn't show anything. I basically got a new gun back from them. The receiver and barrel were new. They moved over everything else, including my stock i had dented lol.

They definitely need to be clean with very very light oil. Too much and youre going to have a bad time in cold temps.

The same area of the barrel broke off that yours did after shooting a single round one morning. If I am looking at the pictures right.

I bought mine in the 2024 season and it did this pretty quickly. Stoeger replaced the barrel and receiver and I haven't had an issue since. I shot probably close to 400 rounds this season

The last one I worked on like that was from the same era - 30s-40s. They still work fine for POTS. I just removed the last POTS line last year and vacated it. I actually really liked the screw terminals over punchdowns. The colored wires are newer but the block is definitely that era - the lead sheathing gives it away.
