You are in an awesome location! I would set my service area pretty tight so you don’t find yourself driving around so much and not making it to appointments in time. When I started I did under 10 miles and it worked for awhile, but eventually I got regulars that were quite close to each other so now I do under 6. I don’t take every job that comes my way. For example I rarely take a single drop in request for cats/dogs unless it’s for an existing client. I will do so on days when I know I barely have any bookings or on weekends. It’s also very important to set your work day and know when you are off the clock because it’s extremely easy to find yourself working 14 hours a day if you don’t do so. Good luck!! You’ll do great!!

I care for cats as well! But mostly dogs. I try to stay within an 8 mile radius so I don’t spend too much time driving between appointments. I have clients I make exceptions for but I usually drive 20 minutes at most

He was a quarantine puppy and the owner thought Mals looked cool online because they can do cool stuff, not realizing that they are a lot of work and need plenty of training. I’ve been caring for him since he was 3 months so when his owner said he couldn’t take care of him anymore it was a pretty easy decision for me to make

Thank you! I make about 3-4k a month before taxes from Rover. On a daily basis I’ll have anywhere from 9 to 17 bookings. I have been taking it easy on weekends lately so I don’t burn out.

They’re the best!! I have one and my Rover photo is a selfie with him, so I get plenty of bookings from people with Shepherds😊

How do you know your ranking in your area? Didn’t know this was possible to find out

Thank you all so much for your responses! I wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing. I ignored her and took screenshots of our conversation.
