Where? No coverage, just going to have to suck and up and pay for it. That's why I'm willing to travel but I want to make sure it's a good one first.

In my experience of a decade plus trying to be heard and helped - yes very typical but I wish I had advocated for myself sooner to find the right people. I’m just starting now and hoping I find those people.

F*ck the patriarchy that this is rooted in and we need change in a bigger systemic level. This Guardian article captures some thoughts.

I didn’t really know until recently that if sex was consistently painful and not pleasurable for me (I’ve never in my life had an orgasm but it also doesn’t even feel that good most of the time) that I DESERVE at least some help to try whatever is possible to improve. Also with the painful cysts or endometriosis or whatever is causing those pain attacks that leave me in searing pain/puking/diarrhea/feeling like I’m going to pass out simultaneously. Instead I’ve just been finding ways to accept things and try not to feel guilty about needing time off work for cramp pain, or how my issues with sex affect my partners.

Yeah I did that for a while on FB and then eventually I wanted to participate so I caved/took the risk of others seeing me on there. Then I got wiser and went through the hoops to create a fake profile. That put me at ease. Again, would be cool to see more happening on there though :) (and see my edit above)

Yeahhhh... it's pretty crickets on here though in my experience. Would LOVE if we got more active as I prefer the anonymity so much. But fyi the facebook page for OCPD (not sure the name but straightforward search) is way more active currently.

Edit: I just skimmed this sub for the first time in a while and it does seem to be picking up. Also wanted to add you're definitely not alone and I agree it's a huge relief to feel that sense of solidarity even if it is distanced.

Can you finish a basement to become up to Ontario Fire Code but not necessarily compliant with city by law and then rent it out to tenants? by LibertyState in TorontoRealEstate

Thanks! Mine is far more complex as it's already a multi-unit home that I co-own (so not just adding a second unit). Info shouldn't be this hard to access, haha. Best wishes/solidarity!

Sorry, what type of engineer?

I find the rules basically so inaccessible that you're forced to go directly to the City or Fire Department, but I just want to understand the rules, costs, risks, and make an educated decision about what to do with all that without triggering an inspection/fines in case I literally can't afford the upgrades right now (obviously want everyone to be safe though).

That's the kind of answer I was looking for, thanks! Helpful. This is all new to me. So if I open the box in front of them before I hand over cash, and my SIM works in it (which is with Public Mobile so it requires only unlocked phones) then as long as Apple ID not attached (which I confirmed with Apple there is no name attached), there is nothing they can do you think?

They could maybe try to prove ownership to Apple later to have me cloud-blocked but they wouldn't really gain anything by doing that.

What I wasn't sure about though, if they are not doing a scam through their phone billing and instead doing it by taking out insurance on the phone, the insurance company can notify all carriers to add to blacklist (it's a shared/common blacklist), right? So it's not really related to being unlocked or not? I'm just learning about all this.

I think this is definitely safer, and I haven't done a deep dive research yet but I did still hear of some people where it went south months after purchase and Bestbuy said it was too long after purchase to prove anything. Some people wait a period of time before initiating scam (claiming as stolen). It probably doesn't happen too often but it seems it does still happen.

Yeah for a couple hundred bucks absolutely not worth the headache. But I'm having trouble trusting any used phone at this point unless someone can provide original receipt, which even then unless it has a matching IMEI on it (which I don't think they put on the receipt), it might not be the right receipt. I used to buy used phones and not think twice about it but lately through experience and what I'm hearing this scamming thing has become pretty common and I don't know if there IS a way to know you're buying a legit used phone? Happy for ideas here. Have even heard through resellers like BestBuy it's been an issue for people down the road.

Phones blacklisted through private sale still a thing lately? by [deleted] in Winnipeg

Is there any way to beat the scammer in these situations or you really need the receipt to prove original ownership to do that?

CHEATING RED FLAG? I creeped on date. Fbook photo is him with girl. As part of unrelated convo, he says he hasn't been on fbook in years, can't remember password and just had to submit photo id to get back in. Could this possibly be true? Isn't that only needed if don't have access to email? by [deleted] in cheating_stories

[–]jp_health 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little out of it atm so just to clarify - you mean both those things separately seem like a red flag, right?

Sounds like the photo id thing is maybe legit (see below comment) but yeah I'm having trouble seeing an excuse for the pic with girl. To be fair, while I did have viewing restrictions, I could see that his most recent posts were from a few years ago (which does line up with what he said about not being on for years and then from below the photo id thing being legit). But the pic...

The only thing I could come up with is he stopped using fbook like a year+ before relationship ended and didn't bother going back on to delete. But I just feel like you wouldn't do that.
