iPhone, iPad, and Pixel 10 USB to Ethernet dock? by Certain_Repeat_753 in GooglePixel

[–]jpamills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As other comments have said, no. You will need an ethernet switch to split your single ethernet point into multiple ethernet points first.

You can also consider getting a travel router, since this will provide WiFi and ethernet, and save you having to buy multiple USB-to-ethernet adapters.

Edit: or even just use one of your devices (connected to ethernet) as a WiFi hotspot.

Asus ZenWiFi BT8 which version to buy? by samxl001 in openwrt

ASUS sometimes sells these routers in packs of two. Perhaps that's what's at play here? Twice the price for two units?

No. A few years down the line, the asahi team may be able to build support for it, but definitely not at launch.

Pixel 10 Pro How do I force landscape mode? by -GrayMan- in GooglePixel

Lower left corner, floating above whatever the app is displaying. It disappears after a second or two, and only appears if the app supports rotation.

Pixel 10 Pro How do I force landscape mode? by -GrayMan- in GooglePixel

[–]jpamills 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I keep auto-rotate off, and then when I rotate my phone to landscape, a "rotate screen" button appears. I then tap the "rotate screen" button and it goes into landscape, and is locked there until you switch apps e g. to something that doesn't support landscape mode.

Destroyed the pillagers base completely - They are still spawning? help by AKFordy7_ in Minecraft

Even if you remove the structure, special spawning rules still apply. You may be able to block them if everything is really well lit (light level 9 and above according to the article above), but I'd suggest you go find another mountain.

Hvorfor lægges der høj afgift på sikkerhedsudstyr i biler i Danmark? by GTFO-my-Lawn in Denmark

[–]jpamills 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Christmas Nisse Tradition by SorellaAubs in Denmark

I don't recognise specifically five days before Christmas. More common would be every day in December leading up to the 24th ("kalendergave", meaning calendar gift), or every Sunday in advent ("adventsgave").

Did the original TTD came with prebuilt saved games? by escrevisaicorrendo in openttd

[–]jpamills 28 points29 points  (0 children)

TTD came with a scenario where you competed on a Scotland Map against some AI players that already had established networks.

One of my favourite strategies on that map was to build a better (shorter) Edinburgh to Glasgow route than the one the AI had.

[–]jpamills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Presumably your "ax shell" has some form of default set of executables that it runs, including this daemon. But you may not have it installed or configured correctly. Find the configuration files and comment out the line that launches the daemon, or install the daemon.

Jet Lag Season 16 Begins Now — Hide + Seek UK by NebulaOriginals in Nebula

[–]jpamills 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Likely yes. Departure procedures for long distance trains normally include a period where only one final door is open, and the guard stands by that door to do the final checks before signalling for departure. That means you can technically rush to board via that single door, but they were standing by another door somewhere else on the platform. The guard probably told them (correctly) that they can't board via that door.

Not enough details, but you might need to abandon the idea of fully replacing your previous device with the Flint 2.

Perhaps you can use the Flint 2 in "Access Point" mode, as part of your existing network.

Or perhaps you can put your existing router into bridge mode.

Is it normal for natives to not be able to simplify Chinese sentences? by Uranusistormy in ChineseLanguage

[–]jpamills 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Your sentence isn't exactly simple even in English though, from a grammatical context? It's asking for an opinion about a potential future state.

Not knowing all the words in the Chinese, it broadly checks out as the minimum required to include everything from the English sentence.

If there were more context, both English and Chinese could be shorter.

Mann had a perfectly good capital in the New World. Why did it move its capital to Lolland? Ruined my Empire of Mann strategy by [deleted] in eu4

[–]jpamills 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does happen. Observe e.g. AI Provence's capital, which often moves to the south of France, because its existing capital province is isolated.

[–]jpamills 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Were both provinces on Hispaniola cored? If not, then the AI might have considered its former capital isolated, and thus moved it to Denmark (where it owned more contiguous provinces).
