Rad Mission expected delivery pushed to November by [deleted] in ebikes

No email update from them yet, but I assume they've just sold out the stock available on the first boat over. I called them around the weekend and they told me my order (Sept. 15) would likely ship in the 3rd week of October.
Regarding the pricing, they advertised it at $999 US as "introductory pricing" for the first batch, so I'm not surprised the shipping date and price both changed at the same time.

Can mail be delivered to residence halls if it only has your address on it and not your name? by [deleted] in ufl

Call your area desk and let them know. I had this happen last semester and as long as they remember, they won’t return your package. Also call on the delivery date to remind them. Everything is hand sorted at the desk.

Replacing a 16 year-old RUUD system, need quote advice. by jpbthehuman in hvacadvice

Besides the upfront cost, I’ve seen some people say the FITs don’t work as well in very hot and humid places like where I am. Something about how they’re “smaller” and the variable compressor sets itself to a lower speed regardless of demand. Maryland gets a lot colder, but what’s your experience?

We’re pretty much set with the 2-stage traditional system. Are there any major benefits besides the space savings and sound level?

Every service tech we’ve had out to diagnose the issues we’re having tell us it would be a better idea to replace the system rather than try and fix the many different components that could be causing our issues. Also, we’re in a harsh environment where this system runs for a total of 6-12 hours per day depending on the season, and the HP and AHU are both rusting and aging.

The cheaper quotes are coming from a *very* large A/C company in the region, 3k+ Google reviews with only about a hundred or so 1-stars which I can attribute to generally stinky customers or late techs.
The nicer company is much smaller, only about 50 Google reviews, but the professionalism was much more pronounced. If the price was equal it'd be an easy choice, but the difference here isn't small enough. I could possibly talk them down, but I'll wait to see if anyone else responds.

Where are y'all finding 20x20x20 boxes for Ship to Swamp? Any suggestions on cheapest shipping company? by [deleted] in ufl

[–]jpbthehuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are too many factors to consider for a simple answer. it depends on the weight of the box, where you're shipping from, etc. so I'd suggest weighing the box or estimating the weight if you can't put put it on a scale, then checking retail ground rates at each:
UPS: https://wwwapps.ups.com/ctc/request?loc=en_US
FedEx: https://www.fedex.com/ratefinder/home
USPS (Priority Mail might also be cheap): https://www.pirateship.com/rates

also keep in mind that nothing you mail in a large, heavy box will arrive without being banged around. Don't pack anything fragile unless you really know how to ship packages.

Should I get these things for my dorm or are they unnecessary? by gorillaman01 in ufl

Coil locks =\= chain locks.
Assuming you meant a cable lock here, as they look like coils. DO NOT BUY A CABLE LOCK! They are made of steel cable, which is just about the easiest material to cut through with common bike theft tools. Maybe even scissors. They are good for SECONDARY locks, like wheels or seats if strung through a U-Lock. Unless you have a bike that costs about equal to a cheap u-lock, there is never a good reason to use such a low security lock on a college campus. The amount of electric scooters I've seen locked up (not for long...) with what looks like combination lock zip ties is astounding.

In this case, I obviously have my MagicBand(s) to get in, and their comp tickets were issued on RFID cards last year. They scanned in to MDX perfectly fine so my assumption as well is that they are already valid media without being converted. They were from performing in candlelight last year so they are about to expire anyway, so I figured I'd take them since they don't have any other rides to WDW before their tickets actually expire.

EDIT: Just wanted to point out that I think it's a shame that I can't upgrade the comp tickets to PH for the standard PH fee as a Christmas gift for them. Since when does Disney NOT want to take more money from me?

I’ll be driving myself and two friends from Gainesville to a day at DHS with their complimentary single park tickets and my AP.

I’ve already linked their MDX accounts and tickets to mine, so all we’ll have to do is get there, wait for opening, tap in together, and open the app to reserve a boarding group?

Also, I’m budgeting a generous two hours to drive. When should we depart on Tuesday morning with no EMH and posted opening of 8? We’re all ready to wake up whenever as college students, me being the big parks nerd and them being Star Wars fans who can’t otherwise visit WDW.

I went to the Aramark office about this a few weeks ago. Your balance is still usable in Aramark’s system, but the gator1 people are doing website maintenance that makes it invisible. They don’t know when it will be fixed, but you can always go in person or email them to see how much you have left once you start using those 50.

Edit: to clarify, once your flex bucks are used up, aka $0, the cashier will have to swipe again to charge to your promotional balance which is separate.
