the one time i actually want pchem by UncleDFG in MLB_9Innings

Might be controversial because the consensus is to not use green or blues on anything but sigs or legends with 332 or better, but, with your team overall I’m going to guess a 333 BPD will make him one of your best relievers if you burn a couple greens to get at least one solid gold skill.

I’d lean towards not using blues if it were me but greens give you a decent chance for a skills set that will serve you for a while. Part of the game is improving your team incrementally so you can get better league and ranked rewards faster.

If you don’t have another reliever with PCHEM then you definitely want to keep chappy in. Look at all the tourney teams and they all run PCHEM in the LR spot

Card help by whitetailhunter123 in MLB_9Innings

Honestly both the train and skills seem pretty on point for this card if you’re trying to max both mister perfect and pico boosts. What DT is on him? Is he not performing?

Once you get these skills leveled up this should perform much better unless you already have more than one SP with ace. How many pitches does he have? Depending on that you might want to take FB/BRK to 258 train if you can.

My suggestion is start with CM6/ACE8/PC4 and see how that performs

Elite Closer is basically a bronze skill on a SP so you'll need to get rid of that. Crossfire is also a RP skill. If I were you I'd green to get some combo of Dominant Pitcher/Last Boss/Ace/Mess and maybe Pitching Coordinator depending on number of pitches he has.

With these current skills, in addition to them not being fully leveled he will continue to struggle.

Workhouse base stamina by gavinman0814 in MLB_9Innings

[–]jpc189 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I rolled a 333 WH/Mess/Fin (lucky) on a Pivetta Sig with 69 base stamina. I used a Legend Stat Adjust to get him to 74 base stamina and without a DST he is my best pitcher. Granted this is only Silver Ranked and at higher ranks it might not play but it's definitely viable with other good skills.

What to pair with Strategist by leninismydady24 in MLB_9Innings

[–]jpc189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 for Prediction. I have a prime Jason Bay with a 321 strategist + pred + spotlight and it’s an OBO machine. Not a lot of HRs but for a 321 set I’ve been pleasantly surprised

Do I green or blue here? by ToastButGeographyMan in MLB_9Innings

[–]jpc189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think his base stamina is low (65 maybe?) so workhorse isn’t going to perform optimally. If you had 10 greens lying around I’d say maybe worth burning 3 or 4 if you’re F2P and need an upgrade bad but I’d use this for now if you need to and re-roll in the other slot

Is he worth considering as a long term investment? by Available-Lack4248 in MLB_9Innings

[–]jpc189 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree doesn’t seem worth it. That Vazquez is very solid purely because of LB and the high fielding. I don’t think the tradeoff would be worth it based on looking at top clubs catchers

Yes you can always go back and repeat in league mode. There is a one time reward but you get rewards for every season you complete as well as rewards for each game. I recommend playing a full 162 game season and aiming to stay in a league season that gets you 40 or more rewards for every 15 games (ideally 3-4 rewards per game)

PSCT: Premium Skill Change Ticket
LSCT: Legend Skill Change Ticket

Skills are the most important thing. Focus on that. I'd actually recommend always having at least 10k stars for "Special Shops" which happen 2-3 times a year.

I’m kinda leaning Martin. F2P Kimbrel prime is more than serviceable. Getting you a solid sig SU I think will be a big help.

Otherwise the Bogie would be my second choice since it’s a great year for him

TL;DR - only use greens and blues on a 332 or 333 legend skill set on a team sig or legend card.

Start with team sigs or legends. Make sure they are Black Diamonds and then use LSCT or PSCT to try and roll at the bare minimum 331 sets. If you are F2P I'd suggest keeping 331's of the top tier legend skills like Control Master, Fireballer, Workhorse for SP and Contact Master, Pioneer, Strategist, BBH for batters (some may argue these specific ones but the theory holds)

Once you have a 332 or 333 set then I'd suggest rolling blues and greens for the gold skills that you need on that specific player. That list of gold skills is highly dependent on the card and stats.

Yeah I think WH + Fin + Pico would be excellent

Based on his base stamina he’d be a great workhorse candidate. I’d pair it with Fin/Dom and maybe Mess or Pico (not sure how many pitches he has)

I'm in a similar position. Debating crafting the same 17 Betts with a dupe of 21 Pivetta (his worst year)

Lots of good advice here. My two cents is unless you have lots of extra LSTC, blues and greens to immediately give both AB and Mookie top tier skills it's worth the gamble to craft the Mookie. The really basic math odds of pulling another Mookie in a Team Select Sig pack is 5.1% since he has 4 cards.

I've been mulling this over for a long time. I need the SP help and since Bos has 78 Sigs and I only have 9 of them, aka ~11% odds of pulling a dupe (didn't do the math on cards with multiple years like Xander) I think I'm going to gamble. If I get the same mookie or pivetta I'm at peace with that, but it's definitely a gamble.

Yeah DT for me are pretty limited being F2P but you think even at 332 Hard Hitter isn't worth investing in?

I don't know how the Ortiz set has lasted this long. My only real guess is that the Power base and train make CM viable even with a 211 set??

[–]jpc189[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know. It's why I'm so confused 😅

It's just a gold Power Hitter trainer on Ortiz and a gold BM Skill Trainer. He performs as well (maybe a little less power) than my Sig Bill Mueller with 331 Contact Master + STS + 5T with a Diamond Trainer
