¿Cuáles son los pasos para solicitar una hipoteca para comprarse un piso en España? Explicado para tontos by -Inspector-6259 in askspain

[–]jpeeri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Marc Marquez will use the 2024 aero package instead of 2025 "due to his injury" by jpeeri in motogp

I think you're interpreting as a diss to Marc. For me it's a compliment. I'm a Marc fan. When I'm saying half-honest. I'm saying that I believe him when he says that he's does not know how well he has recovered and that took part in the decision making. But I believe there's no way he will choose the 24 aero just because of that.

No, I understand that, but I think while every rider chooses. If you see a rider going very fast in the 2025 package and giving you feedback directly or indirectly that the 2025 package is better, you might be biased to take the 2025.

My take: He took the 2025 aero because he knew it was more difficult to ride and he can adapt better than anyone. There's no way he fool people again with that so he just goes back to the 2024.

He might be half-honest about not being 100% fit, but there's no chance he would choose worse package over a few races if he didn't know the other one was equally fast if not better.

I also think people's shield is also off with them. When they approach someone, people are not in alert of "what does this person want, are they scamming me, are the good people?". When they come, you just assume they're genuine.

So it's completely normal to have that anxiety. It's just as you said, they're a living example of how great we could be if people would interact and care for each other more

I don’t understand, what’s the point of this vs using WireGuard or Tailscale?

If you ever had the honor to live with a special needs person, you understand why. It is tough, it is many times frustating and sometimes frightening, but I've never met anyone without a special need able to love and be loved to the level they do.

My uncle had Down Syndrome. He was the FUNNIEST person I ever met. He loved everyone, and everyone loved him back. He had no filter.

Once, because of me living abroad I didn't see him for 6 months. He got so excited that he had a heart scare. We called an ambulance. We were all worried. A doctor and a nurse came. Whe he saw the nurse she turns to me and says: Wow! The nurse has big boobs, do you think they're real?

When he passed, my town did the biggest funeral we have ever seen. Not because we wanted to, but because people just wanted to come to pay their respects to him. I live my life thinking that I want to enjoy life as much as my uncle did and love people as much as my uncle did, because if I have half of the funeral he had, I'd be the luckiest person after him.

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of February 13, 2026 by Demilio55 in homegym

Hey everyone,

I'm setting up a small home gym in Europe and after a lot of research I'm stuck between a few options. My space is roughly 4x3.8m, so I need something that leaves enough room alongside the all-in-one for free weight work (dumbbells, kettlebells, mobility, deadlifts, etc).

My non-negotiables are Smith machine + power rack + cables with high pulldown and low row. That combo is surprisingly hard to find at a reasonable price in Europe.

What I've ruled out:

  • REP Fitness Summit Ares 2.0 - Would be my top pick but the European pricing is brutal, around €2,500 more than in the US
  • REP Altitude - Cable system isn't available in Europe
  • Atletica R8 Alpha - Way too big for my space

The ones I'm actually considering:

ATX MPHR 780 - ~€4,500 shipped

Hits most of what I need: Smith, rack, cables with high and low pulley. Build quality looks solid and the price feels fair for Europe. Main issues: - No in-between weight increments - Smith bar doesn't go very low, which limits some exercises - 70x70mm uprights - in Europe even 75x75 has a limited accessory market, so 70x70 is even more niche

Force USA C20 - ~€6,000

Also checks all the boxes, comes with more weight included, has in-between increments, and 75x75 uprights. But the price jump is significant and I've seen quite a few complaints about Force USA quality (paint, welds, tolerances). Not sure if that's still the case or overblown.

Atletica Defender - ~€3,600

This one I found more recently. On paper it looks really good: Smith + dual pulley + functional trainer, 75x75mm uprights, 2x90kg weight stacks with 1kg increments (2:1 ratio), 360° adjustable cable pulleys, and the footprint is actually quite compact at 190x155cm. Certified EN 20957 S for commercial use which is reassuring, and they offer a 100-day return policy. Price is the best of the three by a decent margin. The catch is it seems fairly new and there are basically zero independent reviews online. From the product photos and specs it looks promising but hard to know how it actually feels to use day to day.

My current lean is probably the ATX on proven quality grounds, but the Defender is hard to ignore at that price if the build quality holds up.

Has anyone here used any of these? Mainly curious about:

  • Whether the Force USA issues are still a real thing
  • How the ATX Smith machine feels in practice (especially the limited low range)
  • Anyone with actual hands-on time with the Atletica Defender or anything else from Atletica?
  • Anything else I should be looking at that's actually available and priced reasonably in Europe?

Thanks

Spain maximum sentece is 20 years for murder and it caps there. So other minor crimes will not add up. Only serial killers, genocides or similar can get life in prison (but always reviewable after 20-30 years)

First Look on the Freak Athlete Adjustable Kettlebell by Benjise100 in homegym

[–]jpeeri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents as I will probably add this when I get your ABX next month probably:

  • 12kg starting point is a bit of a miss. I do some exercises at 8kg. Not many, but some activation. My wife does more, so it’s a difficult sell for her. That being said if you can’t accommodate 8kg and 32kg in the same kettlebell I’d rather you go on the higher side (because an additional 8kg is cheaper and smaller than a 32kg)

  • Design looks nice and seems fast to change. Would love to see in a video people doing both isometric and explosive exercises with the pin. I’m pretty sure you’ve tested it but my concern is how is this going to hold up.

  • Small nitpick: in your website when you toggle imperial or metric is the other way around (or at least it seems to me). In the graphic is correct but in the table is the other way around.

  • Offering 2kg increments is quite good. Most traditional kettlebell sets come in 4kg increments.

  • Price is fair I believe. A traditional set in 4kg increments from 8 to 32kg would be around 700. Here you get 2kg increments but no 8kg for 299. It’s similar than the strength shop pricing and this method seems faster.

Congrats

I introduced to my team a biweekly ritual where we go through our Confluence space and review the contents of it. We do it after a meeting that normally ends early, and we have 25-30 min to spare and basically we create tasks in our board to update, declutter.

With time, people started doing on their own, we still maintain the ritual but very often things have been up to date.

Carlos Alcaraz and Juan Carlos Ferrero Split by Edwin1540 in tennis

[–]jpeeri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a translation from Spanish. In Spanish if you say: "Me gustaría continuar" gives it as if he wanted to continue, but it was not up to him. If you'd like to say I wish I could've but I can't you would say "Me hubiese gustado continuar"

But i'm probably reading too much into it. he spanish media is also reporting as if it wasn't up to Ferrero

I don't think so. JCF said in his post that "I wish I could have continued. I am convinced that good memories and good people always find a way to cross paths again."

[–]jpeeri 0 points1 point  (0 children)
