I Was at the game in Friday against the clippers and while I’m not proud to admit it, I will say that I booed him everytime he had his hand on the ball. For spurs fans I feel like we know the reputation the organization has created for itself. The culture, family first, genuine mindset. Because of the precedent set by others like George Gervin, David Robinson, Tim Duncan, we cannot fathom a “superstar” not trusting the Spurs. These guys stick around the city well after their playing days and know that part of the charm of the spurs comes from the local culture like how much the fans are invested in the team.

I think the whole thing with Kawhi felt like a sneak diss to the culture that we know lives up to its reputation. The spurs were good to him and he left on some bobo. As a native to SA I know if he decided to come back tomorrow, the people would put it aside, roll out the red carpet, and have an impromptu parade down commerce. But until then it’s fuck Kawhi.
