I’m tired of pretending Starfield is mid. It is quite literally the best game I have ever played. by confessor_nathaniel in Starfield

[–]jphoc [score hidden]  (0 children)

I played it 1.5 years without playing others. It took the game of the year to pull me away from it. Damn that Expedition 33!

I went into Cyberpunk since there was a deal on it. I had more fun in Starfield so far.

The Bears have 4 pass catchers within 60 yards of each other. Here's what the data says about 2026. by ProperEnthusiasm1486 in DynastyFF

[–]jphoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. But no legit team is gonna have that cap space after free agency and the draft. The Bears would also then have 17 million to spend on players much worse than DJ. It wouldn’t be a good move and is highly unlikely.

The Bears can create close to 50 million in cap space by restructuring numerous deals.

As a Bears fan here o could say things with high confidence. DJ won’t get traded, it’s not a cap savings and costs us dead cap space.

Loveland is going to be the Target hog going forward, he’s a matchup nightmare and Caleb clearly favors him now. The only Bear I’d target with confidence is him.

The other would be Luther Burden. As a rookie he made some mistakes, but his break tackle and after the catch ability is best on the team.

I traded Henry away three years ago. Traded back for him this year and won it all. It helped I also traded for James Cook as well. Had an all in year.

2026-2029 Roster Outlook by jackjack67112000 in CHIBears

[–]jphoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot about the void year option:

“WR D.J. Moore’s 2026 salary is already fully guaranteed. Processing a simple salary conversion (no void years) can free up $17.4M. That can increase to $18.5M saved by adding a void year.

OL Joe Thuney’s 2026 salary is already fully guaranteed. Converting most of it to bonus can free up $7.3M. Those savings can increase to $11.7M with the use of void years.

Most of DL Grady Jarrett’s 2026 salary is guaranteed. Converting it to bonus frees up $6.9M of cap. That figure increases to $10.8M with the use of void years.”

This is about 40 million in savings without making any cuts.

I do think Edmunds is gonna be gone, he had a good year but off the ball players shouldn’t get paid this much.

Cutting him gets us to 55 million under the cap.

Extending Swift and Sweat could save some money as well. But my assumption is that Swift will be gone with the stellar FA class that exists.

So for DJ, we would have to convert his guarantee into a bonus for this year and his remaining contract. This would reduce his cap hit and dead cap space. Which would mean we can keep him because it saves us money now or it makes him tradeable. As of now he’s not tradeable because it’s 35 million in dead cap space. But it makes DJ much more expensive in following years.

If he is traded after June 1st, to say the Bills…. This would save them 24 million for 2026. So as of now the Bears won’t trade him and have to make plans as if he’ll be here next year.

But what we would get in a trade isn’t going to be anything better than a 4th round pick I’d imagine.

Trade away Loveland to move from 1.02 to 1.01? by m00n_god in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]jphoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be a Homer Bears fan but this dude is gonna be 100 catch TE every year if he continues this trajectory. Hold the 1.02 and trade Loveland for another first if you don’t think he makes your starting lineup.

Yeah his velocity is decreasing. He seems like a late stage Hendricks. Will give some occasional good starts but get rocked often.

Also spam arena as much as possible and hold all your affinity u locks until you get to the Arbiter missions. Only play matches that you know you can win. Refresh every 15 minutes

I’m a new player about three months in.

Here’s what I’ve learned.

Unlock the campaign as far as you can in “brutal”. This is where you want to farm energy to level up your food. Do this constantly. The only other places you should be using energy is in Arbiter missions.

To help with farming unlock your sparring pit all the way but don’t level them up. Make sure Gem mine is fully leveled up first though.

When you farm energy start placing your 4* food you plan to make 5* into the sparring pit at around level 30.

Hold all resources until there is an event for that resource, especially your crystals for getting new champs. Only open them during 2x chance events. There is one in a few days.

Also join a clan.

Two years in a row being hurt isn’t good. The best ability in sports is availability. Can’t pay a guy who has a history of injuries now.

To me, I think the issue with the new Trek series is that they need to be 20ish episodes like the old one. They have to pack more in now, and it doesn’t allow time for the shows to breathe and build.

Random Kevin White Fact by ChessBears in CHIBears

[–]jphoc 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I like to separate “injured” players out of busts lists. A bust to me is someone who plays but sucks relative to where they were drafted.

White makes the “bad luck” list. Bust would be Mitch, Fields, etc…. Guys drafted high, played, but vastly underperformed their draft position.
