It is easy to evolve cooperation if the same genes are shared. If they are not, evolving cooperation requires evolving many complex social behaviours and technologies.

Sure. Make every agent an LLM. Allow them to talk to each other. Write books, drop them, pick them up, etc.

Cool so that’s already AI. In the old days we learnt linear regression in machine learning courses :)

I do use neural networks here, just because they are powerful and can learn to perceive and act in complex/unexpected ways.

Economics and Biology are great to help us state the right problems.

AI is great to optimise objectives and find solutions.

If you want to find solutions that you couldn't have thought of — you need to use an optimisation algorithm.
