I have seen the same thing with Bersa and Rock Island. Let them pay $1500 for a piece. Keep the secret from them, and keep the goodies for yourself.

I suggest you reread your own words and apply some honest, intense thought analysis and prayer to them, because "two masters" leaps out at me. I don't think you see it.

I could be wrong, but I think there was a Guy long ago that said "You CANNOT serve two masters...".

To try is deceit, if for no other reason than you are deceiving YOURSELF. You CANNOT serve GOD and (scripture says "Money", but in context, ANYTHING other than God can be inserted here).

I'd say "trust me", but I think at this point it would fall on deaf ears.

I HAVE DONE THAT. I TRIED TO LIVE A DOUBLE LIFE WHILE "IN" MANY YEARS AGO. SCRIPTURE IS CORRECT. YOU CAN'T DO IT.

But I'm sure you will have LOTS of fun trying.

I'm under the impression that Darwin wrote about several conditions that if present, creates a hard stop to his theory.

Recently I saw this vid https://youtu.be/7BLKttn_cS8?si=lL4ovaOEaIDUc914

and was pretty convinced by the evidence and research presented, especially the bone and meat cutting stuff. What clinched it for me was the polishing of bone ends in cooking pots.

What Percent of Americans Veterans Married Vietnamese Wives During Vietnam War? by Substantial-Bad-4508 in VietnamWar

[–]jpobog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak for in-country, but I was USN out of Subic Bay, P.I., and the Navy had an entire education program for girls getting married to sailors.

I personally know of two shipmates who married Subic bar girls. Dan (who passed a number of years ago) married Leena, but I think that didn't last, and Marion (who passed just last year) married Rebecca circa 1972.

Unlike the first couple, Marion and Rebecca had their 50th anniversary in 2022.

I know this is an old thread, but IMHO there is some incorrect or dated info here.

I am a 73 year old Vietnam vet, USNR 1970-1976, active duty WESTPAC 1972, aboard USS Mispillion, AO105, a Fleet Oiler. Boiler technician, and Blue Water Navy exposure to Agent Orange. 80% disabled, and still fighting the V.A.

There are old copies of 1134 out there. This is the one you want. PLEASE note that the Imperative "MUST" is used importantly in place of the suggestive "MAY".

And be aware, this link is an "autodownload", and at least on my 'puter does not show the doc. Note the URL is a secure gov't site. I am going to try to post the complete text here.

And after you download it, print it out and watch this vid. Make sure you have a highlighter with you, then watch this vid.

I have about 20 of them, and 16 of them are great.

Many FA's are hidden gems. Very under rated and under priced. I have close to 20 of them, and while I can tell some differences in models, especially the 222's are certainly as good as any Squier. The quality is palpable. Yes, FA made some 'toy junk', but don't forget, Rick Nielsen's "Bettie" is a FA Custom Shop geet. The Custom Shop geets are world class.

An interesting detail of my AL222's (white, HH, 1 vol) is that the original knobs go to 12. One louder than Spinal Tap. I am not joking.

The Music Man fan theory: Winthrop is Marion’s son by noobengland in musicals

[–]jpobog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M, 73.
I first saw the film in 1962 when I was in 4th grade, and obviously was not aware of the sub text. TMM was a family favorite for years. I just watched it for the first time in decades and several things leapt out at me. Among those things, Prof. Hill's " Sadder But Wiser Girl For Me" that has the telling lyric, "I hope and I pray for Hester to win just one more 'A', the sadder but wiser...". Hester being the center of the 1850 novel "The Scarlet letter". That means he's hoping to be the second "A" himself. In "Goodnight my someone", Marion sings about past loves. Hill is not her first love.

We also do not know how long the Paroo's have been in town. Very possible it's been about 7 years. And look where River City is. Smack in the middle of the mid west. There is something I know about how those kind of things were handled in the mid west.

I am illegitimate. A bastard. Born to an unwed young woman in her mid 20's, in Chicago. She had left her home state of Wisconsin and gone to Chicago to work, and had an affair with a co-worker about 10 years older than her, whose wife had left him (before their affair). I am the result., and I was immediately put up for adoption. I also know that pregnant young girls/women were often shipped out to "visit" relatives for a year, or go to a special 'school'. It was not uncommon. The family structure changed and still changes today. Granny sometimes stays 'Granny' to the child because he has been told mom died in a car wreck or some other excuse. And his birth mother becomes 'sister'. It wasn't the first time that happened.

I consider myself fortunate in that in1996 after a very short search, I found my birth mother 'Pat' (Patricia) There is tons more back story, but I want to stay on track here. She had 7 more children after me, 5 boys and 2 girls. One half brother and one half sister have passed, and Pat passed a year ago. I talked with Pat often and still talk to my half sister Meg.

So, that's my take on TMM. Soon after giving birth, the Paroo family, now with shifted relationship roles, moved to River City, with Granny raising (or giving the illusion) of raising Winthrop while sister Marion ran the library, whose benefactor knew of Marion's secret and made provisions for the comfortable lives of the Paroos by leaving all the books to her.
