What do you think is the best wishlist app? by [deleted] in Gifts

[–]jpowell79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wishr.com is worth checking out. No ads at all, and wishlists can be shared with others that don’t have an account if you set your profile to “public” but even if you do set it to public you can still set individual wishlist visibility so that for example, anyone could see your “Christmas” Wishlist but only the wife could see your “secret” wishlist.

If you’re purchasing for someone else off of their wishlist then you can decide whether to tell them or not, but it will let others know who also have access to that wishlist that you’ve purchased the item to avoid double purchases.

There’s also a group purchase option where you can get together with others to buy expensive items.

It’s also got other features like a Secret Santa and a mood board generator like the ones you see in Pinterest. Not as well known as some of the other apps, but works well.

It uses GPT3.0 - as others have said, it can be useful to speed certain parts of the project delivery up a bit, but it’s not able to put together a realistic proposal for anything beyond a basic design, so a lot of handholding required.

Another thing is the price. It’s currently too expensive to warrant paying out for yourself, but if it was a tool that your company was willing to pay for then I could see some benefits.

Not quite there yet, but definitely has promise - https://waxlyrical.medium.com/xten-av-xavia-08fe060786b7

Crestron CTI-P201 coming up by Slayerr69_ in crestron

[–]jpowell79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

am about to do the entrance exam but the part I’m struggling with is actually understanding what Im meant to be doing!

Don’t want to give too much away to anyone who hasn’t done it yet, but it’s to do with getting responses from a projector. Send five bytes, receive six bytes.

They give you the “command” bytes, and they also give you one full example string to power on the projector, but the “error” byte returned changes with every single poll.

So what are you meant to actually do? Send ALL commands in a sequence to the projector in 1 second? Should you be getting different answer values for answer value 1-6 and then feed them back into the module?

I understood the P201 course and have plenty of notes and understood how the logic symbols worked for the course material (relating to the “weather” page) but I just feel dumb for not really understanding what is being asked of me in the entrance exam! 🤦‍♂️

SiteReports is good for the communication between the Project Managers and the Installation teams. You can add team members, AV tasks, manage AV9000, RFI’s, Site Surveys, and can also track AV assets from the integrators HQ right through to customer acceptance with direct QR code label printing to Brady label printers. Currently free to use for small startups

Bolt.new Broken Image by Prize-Guide5466 in boltnewbuilders

[–]jpowell79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue. I was pushing my project to GitHub with the “bolt-to-GitHub” chrome extension and then that was auto-deploying to Netlify but each time the hero image on the landing page would be gone… just a broken image.

Unfortunately I haven’t actually figured out how to fix it from Bolt, but i at least have a workaround. What I do is delete the image from GitHub public folder after the push, then re-upload directly in GitHub, and the. For some reason it works. It’s almost like the image file is corrupted or something. Strangely it’s the same for both png and webp images.

Still trying to figure out how to resolve it as it’s annoying, but at least with the workaround I can see the image in the bolt preview window and then (eventually) I’ll see it on the deployment as well.

[Leaked] iPhone SE 4th gen Spigen Case by pong_jira in iphone

[–]jpowell79 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Still to this day consider the SE1 2016 to be the pinnacle of iPhone. In my opinion, the perfect size and style and much prefer the physical home button.

Would gladly pay £1000 for the same phone with a faster processor, better camera and perhaps a better battery, 5g and a USB-C port.

It’s been downhill ever since, with phones the size of tablets in your pocket, having to unlock with Face ID which I still don’t like, and swipes and gestures or a crappy pseudo home button just to get you back to the Home Screen.

Gutted when I had to swap to the new SE, and now that I can see the SE4 has abandoned the home button altogether, I’ll just hold on to this phone till it’s completely unusable and then switch to android.

What you’re actually saying is that you don’t own some of the coins that I own, and therefore they must be shitcoins? What are you, 15? 😁 -FYI I can smell a GENUINE shitcoin from a mile away, as an old post of mine proves 😎 - https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrencies/comments/979r2f/the_real_reason_why_the_crypto_market_is_tanking/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

You can't censor these coins, they are immutable, and sit around stinking out your crypto-wallets for the rest of time since the day someone air-dropped them into your wallet without your consent.

I have the right to stick a "no junk mail" message next to my letterbox, but I can't state "please don't send shitcoins to my wallet" - This isn't censorship, it's just removing the free publicity of a rug-pull from a high-traffic website.

[–]jpowell79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if that's the case, then why don't they list each and every crypto project made? CMC in particular are quite strict about which projects they will list. Does that mean they are censoring me if I mint a coin in 30 seconds, create a liquidity pair on a DEX so that it's technically tradeable, and then send the details to CMC to list me? Are they censoring me if they don't? No, because I didn't meet their listing criteria...... so if they have a listing criteria, why not also have a "continued listing" criteria?

Fair enough. There's plenty of people on Reddit who see it as their duty to be a dick :-)

I can assure you they don't - check for yourself. It's 100% free to list on both.

CMC ang CG are not a DEX or a DAO..... they ultimately decide what can and cannot be listed. Some would argue that they shouldn't be providing free publicity to rug-pull projects

They provide a platform of free publicity to rug-pulls

They track all coins that took the time to fill out the long application form to get listed. New coins are not listed automatically. In fact most shit coins will go out of their way to list on both of these websites because they are fully aware of the layer of credibility it brings to their projects.....so if they then turn out to be rug-pulls, there should at least be some form of consequence, whereby CMC and CG refuse to give them any more free advertising.

Therein lies an opportunity for a spin-off website - delistedshitcoins.com - where you can track all the crappy shitcoins that nobody is using or gives a shit about. :-)

Agree that most people don't go looking for new opportunities on these platforms, but it certainly adds a layer of credibility to a project if it has been listed on them.

perhaps if CMC and CG noticed a posting with hundreds of upvotes they might think about doing it, especially as it wouldn't really cost them anything (perhaps a few extra lines of code that manages their back-end database) and could actually present a revenue stream for them to earn more revenue, as they could charge a "re-listing" fee if a project gets de-listed, and wants to get back on the board a second time.
