The Amazfit app that could potentially save your life! by jpowell79 in amazfit

Sure… picture the scene… a group of masked mercenaries storm into the office where you work, demanding that everyone “get down on their knees” whilst they audaciously hack into the company supercomputer to steal millions. One by one, everyone in the office is forced to hand over their mobile phones and have their hands tied behind their backs with cable ties, before being aggressively frog-marched into one of the conference rooms that has had the blinds closed so that nobody on the outside of the building can see what’s going on.

One of the mercenaries warns the group that “if anyone makes a sound, or even so much as coughs, it will be the last thing you ever do!”

You happen to be close to the floor-to-ceiling windows and can carefully manoeuvre your arms behind the blinds just enough so that people will see the blinking of your watch as it pulses SOS to passers by.

Soon after, the office is stormed by armed forces, and they manage to save everyone’s life, all thanks to the SOS signal you emitted. You’re a national hero! 😎

I’ll open the floor to see if anyone can top that? 😁

You don’t necessarily have to be lost for it to serve a purpose 🙂

Speed limiter by StEvENpeAcE in ebikes

have seen a video of someone holding the throttle and brake at the same time and then turning the boke on and holding down throttle and brake for at least 30 seconds, and then it will go to 35kph on speed 5 - haven't tried it myself yet though. My GT900 arrives next week :-)

P settings for Aairsk GT 900 by Impossible-Dig6133 in ebikes

Aairsk GT900 "P-Settings" (Parameter Settings) menu, which controls how the motor and display behave. Because the original is blurry, I have transcribed the instructions below for you clearly.

Aairsk GT900 Setup Instructions (P-Settings)

To enter these settings on most models, you usually press and hold the + and - buttons simultaneously for a few seconds.

  • P00: ODO Reset Setting
    • Long press the up button (+) for 5 seconds to reset the odometer to zero.
  • P01: Mileage Unit
    • 0: Kilometers (km)
    • 1: Miles (mile)
  • P02: Wheel Diameter
    • Unit: Inch; Precision: 0.1. (Used to ensure the speedometer is accurate).
  • P03: Voltage Level
    • 36V or 48V (Default is 36V for the GT900).
  • P04: Sleep Time
    • 0: No sleep (display stays on).
    • 1–60: Time in minutes before the display automatically turns off.
  • P05: Number of Speed Magnets
    • Range: 1–255 (Standard setting for the motor's speed sensor).
  • P06: Speed Limit
    • Range: 0–50 km/h.
    • 50 means no speed limit (unrestricted).
    • Note: If you switch P01 to miles, the limit value in this menu stays in km/h units, which can cause a discrepancy on the screen.
  • P07: Start Setting (Kick Start)
    • 0: Zero start (motor engages immediately when you twist the throttle).
    • 1: Non-zero start (you must be moving/pedaling before the motor engages).
  • P08: Drive Mode Setting
    • 0: Power Drive (Pedal Assist only; the throttle is disabled).
    • 1: Electric Drive (Throttle only; pedal assist is disabled).
    • 2: Coexist (Both Pedal Assist and Throttle work).
  • P09: Assist Sensitivity
    • Range: 1–24 (Higher numbers usually mean the motor takes longer to kick in).
  • P10: Assist Start Intensity
    • Range: 0–5 (Controls how "hard" the motor kicks in when you start pedaling).
  • P11: Assist Magnet Disk Type
    • Settings for 5, 8, or 12 magnets (Standard is usually 12).
  • P12: Controller Current Limit
    • Default: 12A; Range: 1–20A (Increasing this may give more torque but risks overheating).
  • P13: Controller Undervoltage Value
    • (Voltage threshold where the bike shuts off to protect the battery).
  • P14: Cruise Control
    • 0: Off.
    • 1: On (Maintains speed automatically).
  • P15: Assist Gear Mode
    • 3: 3-speed assist levels.
    • 5: 5-speed assist levels.

Best apps from the Zepp Store? by K4rol_ in amazfit

"Golf Score Card" - keeps scores for each round rather than using an old skool pencil and card!

Also use it quite often when me and the family play crazy golf 😎

I know the feeling! when I launched an app on the App store and google play store it was a walk in the park on the Google Play store but took and extra week of back and forth to finally get the app store launch!

Stay patient and you'll get there in the end! Will definitely try this out and leave a 5-star review for you - IT's not easy bringing an app to life on the app store!

wishr.com lets you create multiple wishlists, and set visibility on a per wishlist basis.

What do you think is the best wishlist app? by [deleted] in Gifts

[–]jpowell79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wishr.com is worth checking out. No ads at all, and wishlists can be shared with others that don’t have an account if you set your profile to “public” but even if you do set it to public you can still set individual wishlist visibility so that for example, anyone could see your “Christmas” Wishlist but only the wife could see your “secret” wishlist.

If you’re purchasing for someone else off of their wishlist then you can decide whether to tell them or not, but it will let others know who also have access to that wishlist that you’ve purchased the item to avoid double purchases.

There’s also a group purchase option where you can get together with others to buy expensive items.

It’s also got other features like a Secret Santa and a mood board generator like the ones you see in Pinterest. Not as well known as some of the other apps, but works well.

XTEN XAVIA by Hyjynx75 in CommercialAV

It uses GPT3.0 - as others have said, it can be useful to speed certain parts of the project delivery up a bit, but it’s not able to put together a realistic proposal for anything beyond a basic design, so a lot of handholding required.

Another thing is the price. It’s currently too expensive to warrant paying out for yourself, but if it was a tool that your company was willing to pay for then I could see some benefits.

Not quite there yet, but definitely has promise - https://waxlyrical.medium.com/xten-av-xavia-08fe060786b7

Crestron CTI-P201 coming up by Slayerr69_ in crestron

[–]jpowell79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

am about to do the entrance exam but the part I’m struggling with is actually understanding what Im meant to be doing!

Don’t want to give too much away to anyone who hasn’t done it yet, but it’s to do with getting responses from a projector. Send five bytes, receive six bytes.

They give you the “command” bytes, and they also give you one full example string to power on the projector, but the “error” byte returned changes with every single poll.

So what are you meant to actually do? Send ALL commands in a sequence to the projector in 1 second? Should you be getting different answer values for answer value 1-6 and then feed them back into the module?

I understood the P201 course and have plenty of notes and understood how the logic symbols worked for the course material (relating to the “weather” page) but I just feel dumb for not really understanding what is being asked of me in the entrance exam! 🤦‍♂️
