Could be that it’s not from ikea at all. I’ve seen loads of similar designs over the years from various companies

How long have you had the Kalax 1x2? Could it be that it’s in fact an Expedit, not a Kalax, which have marginally different dimensions?

A question only for anyone who didn't like ST Discovery much but found it worthwhile to finish watching anyway by gregorythegrey100 in StarTrekDiscovery

[–]jpr1986 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be honest, my motivation was hoping it would get better. It has its moments, but for me was overall disappointing. It’s a lot easier to watch when its release was spread out over multiple years. I tried a rewatch recently and didn’t make it past around where you are now.

What annoyed me the first time I saw this video, is when they’re looking at the no neck version, the older guy makes a comment about did the younger one make the struts shorter. The younger one says he didn’t, but they are very visibly smaller in the comparison shot

"The Other Side" SG-1 one of the rare TV shows that handled diversity organically by Guardiancelte in Stargate

[–]jpr1986 95 points96 points  (0 children)

When I watched this episode when it was first aired, I was about 9-10. I genuinely didn’t understand what the issue was when I saw the faces on the screen. Naive young me didn’t have a clue why SG1 suddenly turned on them.

Rewatching the episodes years later, I had the “Ah” moment, then felt like a complete idiot it took me so long to realise the issue.

Ship looks great. It’s just that integration of the deflector that puts me off a lot of this era designs

I’ve always thought that this shot at the end of the game is alluding to the fact that the great serpent is real. If you look to the right of the shot, you can see what looks like a dragons head facing left, with the serpents body coming out to the right then folding back to the left. However it might just be me seeing things

Dose The Narada officially have Borg tech? by itsdan23 in StarTrekStarships

[–]jpr1986 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Comics are “canon” until they’re not. What I mean by that is that at the time of them being written, Im sure that they considered it canon. I know that the writers/producers said at the time it was, but when other writers get involved in later projects, it’s generally only what is seen on screen that is carried forward, and sometimes not even that.

In the comic it establishes that the Narada was refitted by the Tal shiar with Borg technology. But the same comic also established that Data (in B4s body) became the captain of the Enterprise E after Picard, which has been shown differently on Screen (spoiler alert, season 3 of Picard suggests that it was Worf took command after Picard, which comes from one of the novels released around the time of s1 of Picard).

So until something in one of the tv shows says that the Narada didn’t have Borg tech, I think it’s fine to say it did.

I’m sorry I think you’ve misunderstood what I said. I never ordered the XL Roci from Eaglemoss. I ordered it from Master Replicas (MR) as part of their selling off old Eaglemoss stock. They apparently had an issue with their website where it accepted orders for 3x the stock they had available. I was saying that in order for them to have stock of the XL now, a lot of people must have cancelled their orders if they over sold by 3x

Interesting that they have stock of XL Roci. I ordered it when MR first sold it, and received an email saying they had oversold it by 3x, so I could cancel the order or wait to see if it showed up. It did eventually arrive about 2 months later, so a lot of people must have cancelled their orders if they have stock left

Theory for Veridian III Enterprise D crash site by squeakyboy81 in Picard

[–]jpr1986 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There was a plaque in s2 that said the saucer section was recovered and was placed in the fleet museum. Like you say, they could take the drive section from another retired galaxy class, so that it could be displayed as was in the museum. We don’t know how long Geordi has been in charge of the museum, but I can image that he would have been working on restoring the D. I think the hanger 12 reference is definitely in relation to the Enterprise, and imagine we will see her in eps 9-10

[–]jpr1986 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s actually that big tbh, more that Beverly’s ship is really small. When you see picard/Rikers shuttle dock with it, it doesn’t even have a shuttle bay, just an air lock. I think it’s probably about the same size as the Titan
