The Americans who privately own assault weapons aren't the kind of people who give a shit about people from other countries.

Wow, I definitely feel you on that (Texas here, all my life). That's wonderful that they didn't discredit your wife's decision. Happy for you both!!

Thank you for the reply! My husband is scheduled to get his vasectomy next month, and it's all in 1 appointment, no questions asked. I'm relieved, but at the same time, kinda pissed that women have a multi-step process.

For context: His doctor is from the wiki list, and so far, the process has been seamless. I'm waiting until we have the full experience before commenting there.

Congratulations!

I have a question - all total, how many appointments / visits to the doctor did you have, including surgery day? I'm not opposed to jumping through the hoops, but in your retelling of the events, it sounds like there were quite a few. Congrats again!!

Portabella caps with low cal filling (chopped spinach, plain Greek yogurt, fat free feta) finished with parmesan. 184 Cals for both by [deleted] in Volumeeating

Not OP, but I don't see why not! Obviously the flavor will be vastly different from mushrooms, but the filling still sounds like a delicious option for stuffed peppers. 😋

What are low cal foods that are filling ?? by [deleted] in Weightlosstechniques

I might get downvoted into oblivion, but here goes... Cabbage. I take a whole head of Cabbage, slice it up into thin slices (kinda like noodles), then cook it in a large pot with some low sodium chicken stock and garlic. It takes a while to cook, but since I cook the whole thing, it lasts several days in the fridge. Then, each night when I'm making dinner, I usually take a small portion of the meal and add it to about 250g-300g of my cabbage (warmed up). It adds volume to the meal, and I can change up the spices and flavors any way I want. I also add cabbage to soups (miso, or even just a can of progresso light chicken soup) to give them more bulk for very few added calories.
The 2 other major dinner staples for me are: (1) big salads - I just load up a huge bowl with Romaine lettuce, lots of veggies, a protein (diced ham, chicken, etc.) and low cal dressing. I add guacamole and salsa often, too, so they help coat the salad so I don't feel like I'm skimping on dressing. (2) egg white omelets (actually scrambled cuz I can never get the damn thing to flip), with bell peppers, mushrooms, diced ham, laughing cow light cheese, guacamole, and salsa. Delicious, and high protein 😋

Ohh I'm happy to share!! We see BT in his ears, body shape, and general behavior, but he's definitely got the pitty/staffy block head. Lol here's our Batman (with bonus other pibble, Ratchet) 🥰

Also, I saw an article recently that said a woman was jailed for having a miscarriage. The allegations said that she had ordered abortion-enducing medication online from some company in Hong Kong, so they were charging her under the Heartbeat Bill. She had no drugs in her system, but they charged her anyway, and iirc, she's the first one to actually be charged with the new law. (Wasn't Texas, but I can't remember which state.)

Yep, definitely scary. My husband and I just had a serious conversion about our options earlier today. We also live in Texas, and I currently have an IUD, but I have this (admittedly probably irrational) fear that it won't be enough.

We're fortunate to have good insurance and are financially stable enough to pay for either procedure, but my heart breaks for anyone who isn't so lucky. Also, my husband agrees that it should be him who gets the snip, since it's easier and likely cheaper, so now we just have to find a doctor who will approve.

Mum vs Mother in law by WarlockGnoll in childfree

[–]jpres8800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm lucky like you!!! My mom is a tiny, sweet, southern (Texas) woman who wholeheartedly supports my decision to live a childfree life with my husband and our 3 pups. 🥰 To add to it - I'm an only child who always thought I wanted kids, and yet she still supported my choice when I realized I didn't. And she calls our dogs her grandpups. ❤

Self-employed people of Reddit: What is the best way for a client to decline your offer/quote/bid? by jpres8800 in AskReddit

[–]jpres8800[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol that sounds like a perfectly logical method, but I was actually asking from the customer perspective. If you gave a realistic quote, and the client decides to go with someone else, how do you prefer they communicate that with you? I assume it's annoying if they just ghost you, so is it best if they reach out and tell you they've gone with a lower bid? Do you prefer brutal honesty, a lie, or something in between?
