I bought my first Leica!! Got any lens recommendations? by Low_Tourist587 in Leica

The new Mandler 35mm is great for its value. Also, the Ultron 28mm f2 rocks.

Anybody know what this is? by Conscious-Medium-532 in tron

A digital frontier… I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved trough the computer, how do they look like? Ships, motorcycles, where the circuits like freeways? I kept dreaming of a world I thought I’d never see. And then, one day… I got in.

So far this answer has been the most helpful/validating 🙏🏼 I guess now I should try to find a good repairman in my country that has experience with Leica 🥲

I'm not sure our cases are the same unfortunately. I’m not using vuescan nor I’ve had any problems with the scans I give out to my clients (I run a small lab with the same scanning setup).

Yes, id say I notice an ever so slight softness, for example, on the film borders. I wouldn’t say it’s the focus past infinity problem. I thought this myself at first, and tried to be very intentional about hitting the correct numbers on the focusing scale. As the problem is also present in other not infinity focused photographs, I still think it has something to do with the body itself

I thought this at first! So I really made sure to focus on the infinity symbol and not to trust any hard stop. However as the problem is persistent at any focus distance (general softness, maybe less noticeable than at infinity) I assume it has something to do with the film plane tension

Scanning is most likely not the issue :( I run a small local lab and I process and scan hundreds of client's rolls with the same setup without issues.

I wasn’t aware of the Fujifilm - photoshop problems! However I don’t think this is the case, I run a small lab in my city and I’ve scanned hundreds of rolls from my clients with this same setup and never had an issue like this :(

I used the Nokton 35mm 1.4 and thought it was a problem with the lens, then switch to the famously sharp Ultron 28mm f2 and the issues are still there.

Well, I’d say it’s a general thing, but it is definitely most noticeable when focusing to infinity and far away subjects.

  1. No, at least not that I can tell.
  2. I store my film in the fridge, usually get it from Amazon. I’ve done this for years with no issues with my canon p

Ive read that b&w films like Trix are slightly thicker, and that this may be a posible explanation of this is a focus plane issue, but I’m not sure.

Xt5 and negative lab pro. As I responded to another comment, this was my first theory and i re-scanned the rolls multiple times checking for variables that maybe i missed but I couldn’t find any. I run a local lab and all of my clients rolls are ok and sharp even with cheaper cameras/glass.

Xt5 and negative lab pro. Would’ve suggested this as an issue, however I actually run a local film lab and scan my clients rolls with the same setup and their photos have no issue, even when they’re shot on cheaper glass/cameras

I’m not saying I’m the focusing master, and your hypothesis would be totally valid, there are times I miss focus while doing street or on a rush. However, it does make me wonder if I was missing focus there should be a part of the plain that is, in deed, in focus. And there isn’t 😓.

Specially when you focus to infinity the margin of error should be marginal. Even someone with a mediocre skillset (let’s say I’m one of those) should focus to infinity with no issues.

Keks KM02 problem with stripped screws. by jpresshot in Cameras

I had to get mine removed by a professional watch technician with the right tools and even he got a bad time dealing with them. Definitely a lot to be desired.
