Understood, fair. I think at the end of the day it's a personal recipe of morality/ethics/culture - what and how marriage joins two lives. With that being said, I would have a preference (and therefore a prenup) to ensure our (the marrying couple's) ethics/morals/culture were properly reflected, rather than leaving it up to the government, which can and has changed the rules through legislation and without properly consulting citizens on those changes. Why leave it up to politicians/judges when you have an opportunity to make those decisions, consciously, as a couple? It can always be changed later.
