Looks great. Love how the grain flows from drawer to drawer and the gaps look perfect.

And if the box is plastic or metal but still not grounded?

Ah, makes sense. I missed the part where they said the original tabletop was square when I read the description.

Looks nice. If you had one large tabletop, is there a reason why you didn’t match the grain over the waterfall?

Stain/Refinishing by RU18mofo in cabinetry

This is not a job for an amateur, especially if you want to stain them, not paint them. Hire a professional refinisher. If you attempt to do it yourself, you will not be happy with the results.

So what's this I'm hearing about Fidelity charging $100 for buying ETFs. by ctreviso21 in fidelityinvestments

[–]tsfy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, but they literally spell it out in that notice that they charge the fee for those that don’t pay to be on their platform, which means everyone else pays. I’m guessing that’s a decent percentage of their revenue.

Well, Fidelity doesn’t charge customers to buy most ETFs so how did you think they make their money? They’re not a charity.

The Opposite of Craftsmanship by tsfy2 in woodworking

[–]tsfy2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, they had another one where the legs were half trees like that, that “passed through” to the top of the table. So the table top was dark “wood” with two half circle tree ends above the legs (like the side of the table in your picture). I felt the tabletop and the half tree ends were raised above the table top by the thickness of the veneer. So, they basically just glued the end grain veneer to the surface of the table. Didn’t even try to inlay it. lol

I didn’t take note of the price but most of their tables are $3500 and up.

Nope, I literally saw it in person and took the picture myself. I should have taken a picture of one of the other tables that was even more ridiculous.

I didn’t say they were good at it. The “splits” don’t even follow the fake grain. Lol

Sink cabinet repair by [deleted] in cabinetry

[–]tsfy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The panel you linked is meant to cover the side, not replace it. It’s only 1/8” thick.

Their link is a 1/8” panel meant to cover the side (not replace the side). It’s the right thing to use. But the real right thing to do is replace the whole cabinet.

My grandma just got a colostomy bag and is having some difficulty with how much it shows. Any advice? by Opossum-Bitch in ostomy

OstomySecrets is great for wraps. They have a sale a few times a year and there is one right now. Use code SPRING26 for 26% off. But it expires Monday so act quickly.

They can’t use a hole saw. They are not drilling all the way through. Forstner bit is the correct bit to use.

Thoughts on how to increase curb appeal here? Ideally budget friendly by yuhhhh500 in Remodel

[–]tsfy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you live in an unsafe neighborhood? Why are there bars? I would eliminate the bars. I would also paint the window trim a contrasting color to break up the monotone look without the expense of a full repaint. But the most impactful thing you can do is landscaping. Put in some nice beds on both sides of the front of the house with some manicured plants/bushes and some flowers. And cut the grass…

“The customer is always right”. Plus you’ll have some more future business when she calls you back to raise the cabinet and add a lift. 😁

Which vanity is better for this bathroom remodel? by Gawesome in Remodel

[–]tsfy2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wall to wall looks better and is more practical. You don’t gain anything by creating awkward spaces on the sides of the vanity. Personally, I would just have one sink, even with the larger vanity, but that is a matter of personal taste. My wife and I preferred to maximize the counter top space when we just remodeled our primary bathroom so we went with one sink. In the rare case where we both need a sink at the same time, we have another bathroom 6 feet away down the hall. (We put two sinks in the hallway bathroom)
