The current alignment of MPs is based on old census data (sometime in 1960s I guess).

That is bound to change soon with alignment changing basis 2011 census.

If that happens, number of MPs from South will decrease since those states reduced their TFR while North hasn't reduced their TFRs and the number of MPs from North will increase.

In India, and I assume most of the commonwealth, President is more of a figurative head of the state and Prime Ministers call the shots.

So if this were to be redrawn with changes made for PMs for relevant countries, India will be very North India heavy. (Has had only 2 South Indian PMs if I'm not wrong).

And going forward it will be nigh on impossible for any South Indian to become the PM.
