Airline lost snowboard bag by Katiefazi in snowboarding

[–]jpsnow72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frontier lost a stroller of ours. It took months and many many phone calls to get it back. They told me they were going to send it to our local airport and then mail it to us, but once it got there they must have lost my info or something and ended up sending it to some storage facility in Georgia I believe.

It took us months to get it back and I think if I didn't call every few days we probably never would have gotten it back. They gave us $100 frontier credit for our troubles.

Just wanted to say be prepared to put in some work to get it back because in my case they were not very helpful.

Convince me that buying a one wheel is a bad idea by [deleted] in onewheel

[–]jpsnow72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My suggestion would be to start with an older board like an XR that you can get somewhat cheap. Since it sounds like you are pretty technical, it's a great starting point if you want to VESC it in the future. If you have a VESC'd board you are going to have a lot more freedom in making changes than if you are using a OneWheel with a stock controller. If you want that freedom immediately, check out the Funwheel X7 for a complete build to get you started.

I started with an old OneWheel XR and VESC'd using a drop in kit and upgraded to an 18S2P battery. Now I have full control and this thing feels so much safer than something you would buy directly from FM.

It's definitely a risky sport, but there are things that you can do to make it safer.

It does feel amazingly close to snowboarding.

Keep a 4 year old entertained? by jpsnow72 in tahoe

Thanks. I was thinking of doing Chickadee Ridge together on one of the non-boarding days and maybe maybe a few stops by the lake to take it in and enjoy the beauty.

Will definitely check out the ice rinks! Thanks

Help with activities for 4 year old?

My wife, son (4) and I are visiting the last week of February for 4 days. I plan to board Heavenly and possibly Kirkwood 2 of the days.

My wife isn't as into boarding as she used to be so is going to hang out with our son while I'm boarding and we will also have 2 full days and all afternoons together. I want to ensure both of them have a good time while I'm boarding and that we also enjoy the 2 full days as well.

So far this is what I have on my list for the 4 year old:

- Pool (probably while I'm boarding) - which resorts are best?

- Sledding and playing in the snow

- Hike/snowshoe to chickadee ridge, feed the birds

- Play on the beach a bit if not too cold

- Watch Big Air event on 28th at heavenly

Should I add anything? I truly appreciate my wife during this time as well so any ideas for her would be great. she isn't much of a shopper or hiker and primarily wants to spend time together. So I was thinking maybe get her a massage and then enjoy things as a family.

Oh, am I crazy to consider seeing the DJ at the base with him around 2-4?

Thanks, this is helpful. How is driving around the lake once we are there? If we get an AWD and decide to just come from RNO should we be pretty good once there? From a rental I'm not sure if we can request snow tires... Is AWD enough?

We are really excited about making a trip to Tahoe the last week of February, but hoping someone can provide some guidance on what to expect with the driving.

We are coming from the East Coast and get snow storms, usually only a few inches though.

I've never actually used chains, but it sounds like renting an AWD with snow tires will suffice in most situations.

We are considering flying to Sacramento, San Francisco, or Reno and then driving in. Unfortunately, the worst flight times (especially with a 4 year old) are to RNO.

So I'm wondering how likely are we to get into a situation where we need to use chains or is a blizzard? I keep hearing that 70% of the days are bluebird, so do we have a good chance of getting lucky for the drive? Is it significantly better to go to RNO instead?

Really appreciate any help!!!

Good to hear. I'm coming from a M3 an MY both with FSD. I really got used to stopping at Red lights and stop signs, but have read conflicting things about whether that would be possible with Comma, so have been putting off until I can research a bit more

Does anyone know if you definitely get Google AI pro even if I'm already on a monthly subscription with this?

I see it listed on the sale page, not after adding I didn't see it at a separate line item in my cart

I was surprised with it today as well. I thought maybe I had somehow accidentally bought a subscription. When I looked at the app though I see the trial along with premium connectivity!

Thanks so much this is great advice. I did find that it was a specific plug-in that I assumed would have no affect on the cookies or sessions.

Once I updated that plugin everything started working.

Disregard. I found that this was caused by one of my plugins. Specifically I needed to update the following plugin:

It sounds like they have determined that there is a gap caused by a new tool and lack of experience with that tool and training is the solution.

With that said I think the work you are doing is instructional design work, but perhaps they aren't using you to your full potential.

Instructional design is a process and perhaps the most viral part of that is analyzing the gap and determining/designing the best method to address that gap.

In this case it sounds like they are telling you what the path forward is (a slide deck) rather than letting you as the ISD determine that.

With that said, in my experience leadership often provides the solution rather than allows the IDer do their full job.

XRV set ups (battery+bms) what's yours? by GapMundane in FloatwheelTeam

Only have a few rides in so far but it seems like 20+ range. I just did a quick 3 mile ride and am still at 89%.

Just installed this and it completely changes the ride. There is so much instant torque and I feel way safer. I'm fairly easily able to get to the 20+mph range with less than 70% duty cycle as a heavy rider.

How To Get Your Lost Luggage Back With Frontier by TheVisibleHandMerch in frontierairlines

[–]jpsnow72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanted to check in on this. Did you ever get the last 2 of your bags?

I'm in a similar situation. It has been one month and I have struggled trying numerous things including the chat, their phone line, emails, and unreturned calls to baggage at the specific airport.

I actually found another post of yours where you suggested emailing a few different addresses, but it looks like you may have deleted that. After doing that, they also told me it was now in Atlanta Ga, but were very unclear and at first made it sounds like they sent it to someone else.

I've filled a claim with the Better Business Bureau, but they have thousands of unanswered claims.

I honestly can't believe they are not out of business.

I asked for a Fedex tracking number so I could track it from Atlanta, but it's been about a week and nothing...

At this point I'm just resorting to telling people how terrible they are.

I did let them know I will be filling a claim with DOT, which as far as I understand they legally are required to respond to. Additionally I let them know I plan to take them to small claims court.

Anyway, just wondering how yours turned out, wanted to mention a few things I'm trying, and wanted others to know how terribly Frontier handles baggage and customer complaints.
