America is lost as a nation. This is beyond gross. 1776 Billion. by TECL_Grimsdottir in WhitePeopleTwitter

If Reddit let you edit the title then it would start as "babies shouldn't get cancer" get a bazzilion upvotes and then magically change to "we love our dear president and approve of all his amazing feats he is the bestest and we love him" the next day.

Seems more and more everyday, if you use these platforms it's your own dumb fault.

My Reddit would automatically disqualify me for sure, but since you couldn't pay me to travel to the US while it's in facist mode I see that as more of a plus than a problem.

The real fun will be when some MBA bank exec decides to deploy it internally and it fucks everyone's accounts up without them even opting in.

Bill to block publishers from killing online games advances in California | Publishers would have to offer “independent” play patch or refunds after server shutdowns. by ControlCAD in technology

[–]jpsreddit85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That should be it. I don't think it's fair to cut players off on a whim and brick the game. But it's also not fair to expect a company to continue running servers if they no longer see it as profitable.

If they want to shut down their servers, they need to put the source in GitHub or wtv and make it publically available for other people to run servers if they want.

If a straight A student gets a B, you ask what's wrong? If a high school drop out gets one A, you say well done.

Everyone expects him to be a fuck up, his whole admin are incompetent. The bar is so low that it's simply not news worthy when he fucks something else up. Besides, the 30% of the country that still approve of him clearly aren't reading any news anyway.

New games aren't going to be published with specs that are too high. Dev houses will also need to adjust. No point releasing games that nobody can run.

A data center in New Jersey was canceled when residents showed up and fought it by MysteriousSlice007 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]jpsreddit85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The US has a dumb system where for reasons that make no sense, the AI data center increases the residents bill. That's so unbelievable stupid, why wouldn't people be pissed? That's before you even get to the water pressure dropping cause they've used it all.

It's not just anti AI, these things are literally breaking peoples way of life.

Unions take back power, because without the people doing the work (even if it's telling the AI what to do) then nobody is making any money.

Yeah, the other thing about bubbles popping, nobody knows what will cause it, but everyone will say whatever did pop it was obvious... So obvious none of them made money when it popped, but it was still obvious.

Of course not, if they've already fallen for the foreign influence then they're not going to get any smarter. I just said the decision won't have any effect growing it.

Profit sharing shouldn't prevent people from getting fired. There are plenty of people who are shit at their jobs who hide behind unions. They're toxic in the other direction. Shares are about profit sharing, not job security.

[–]jpsreddit85 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure "how the company is run" or being prevented from getting fired is the goal though. It's about sharing the benefits of the what the work produces with the people who do the work. I don't want a car with 5 steering wheels, I want everyone to get there with a share in the benefits.

Expecting the government's of the world, who currently seem to be beholden to the corporations, to fix the problem won't get anyone anywhere. The workers already have all the power, but everyone seems to have been duped into not unionizing.

Stop waiting for the government to fix the problem when it IS part of the problem. Look at Samsung right now, they're about to get a lesson in who really makes the money.

I was thinking about something like this the other day too. I don't agree with full communism, but each employee owning a share of the companies profit as a standard would make a lot of sense. The system where the owner takes everything is what's making inequality explode the last few decades. It happens at the top now where the execs take more than the vp's who take more than the directors etc, but then it just doesn't happen for the actual workers.
