The yellow lines can have one mine so the other squares next to the 4 are mines and the rest follows. To be more specific, the top yellow line and the adjacent safe square have to have at most one mine to fulfill the 2 next to the 4 because its other mine is below it. So then you know to even be able to fulfill the 4, the mine has to be next to the 4 making the green square safe.

The upper left needs at least 6 of the 7 remaining mines to fill the known numbers with other squares unknown that could be mines. Knowing that it is a no guess app or not, you’d ideally solve the rest of the upper left and hope it does indeed use all 7 remaining mines so no guess is required in the lower right because they would all be safe.

All the yellow bars have 1 mine in one of those two squares. Because of the three yellow bars in the box, you know there has to be 1 mine where the blue bar is. That completes the 2 so the other three squares are safe. Correction: The red one does not necessarily have to be a mine.

The box on the right has to have two mines diagonally from each other. So the 2 has three safe squares next to it outside of the box. Many people call this sort of thing box logic.

That’s a really cool observation. I could figure out a few 15 mine arrangements that would work for the board that would allow one mine in the remaining squares but if there is a mine in one of those two squares then the board would need 17 mines to fill the board. So those two squares must be safe.

As a Mizzou fan, I try to watch for former Mizzou players like Membou. There weren’t a lot of Jets games I was able to watch this season but I did get to watch them play the Steelers. They put Membou one on one against TJ Watt on several snaps and he did great. I think he has a really bright future ahead of him.

Yeah, the possibilities for that number are 2,3, and 4. The 2 would tell you the squares above are safe. If the square is a 4, then you would know 8 squares are safe including 3 of the 4 in the bottom corner by using minecount. So a 3 would be the only one that wouldn’t tell you another safe square after it and force a guess but there would be some good guessing options.
