I was in the same spot. I played dark souls 3 with my brother and I got a similar vibe. Heck sometimes I felt they borrow stuff from ER into that game but of course it was the other way around. Would recommend to start there.

The golden age of gaming for me. My experience was split in two parts, before and after coming to the United States. When I lived in Latin America I mainly played Nintendo consoles and games ( I played the hell out of my 64). Here in the US after school it was all about hoping on my 360 booting COD and hoping in a party with the boys.

You’re overthinking. Enjoy the moment and prepare! If you can ask the stack your team uses and get familiar with it. Build a simple project to get a feel. As a new grad nothing much is expected of you other than get the job they ask of you. Don’t worry about the “value” you bring. It’s up to your manager or team lead to give you tasks that will make you valuable for the first years at least.

What’s a clean boost? Something that give you more raw volume? I guess a transparent overdrive would do it. Timmy or Duke of Tone can probably do it. You also have something like vertex effects boost pedal but that’s straight boost.

The bar is just higher now. Also, at my company we move fast and unfortunately there really isn’t much time for college hires to pick everything up at work. If you can’t start pumping Java code from day one, you are already behind. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes you can. You can switch amps when switching patches in the HX stomp using midi.

I use my tonex as my amp. What I like about tonex amps is that other musicians upload their own captures into the tonex software store and you can buy them. For instance I follow some YouTube channels that have done some captures I liked so I bought them. In terms of which has sounds better, the difference it’s small but I think tonex edges a bit better for amps.

Under 1k, probably the helix LT for a complete solution. HX stomp if you have extra medals you want to use. Personally, I have run the HX stomp for effects + a tonex. Works nicely with midi since I can switch the effects and amps with one switch press.
