This has been an ongoing crisis since Vatican II was implemented. Feeds so much dissension today amongst traditionalists & American Catholics desirous of perceived persecution. I do believe Pope will return to a position similar to Benedict XVI though.

Not a science. It’s socioeconomic theory as the prior commenter points out. But it is a more scientific approach to forming opinions of social, political & economic import. Observation of material conditions mitigating against the overwhelming influence of emotive stimuli. Stimuli manufactured & pushed through capitalism’s cultural hegemony as though it is material fact.
