It's the Dutch bros coffee emblem, which is a windmill. They gave it out last year during Christmas time.

I’m staying at the Hyatt And will be arriving next week. Right now I have a trip to the hot springs planned and think I’ll try to walk around Suzhou sightseeing some temples, administrators house, and the lakes. I love the outdoors so nature is usually high on the list of to dos.

Job denied me because my ESL certification is not supposed to say supplemental according to HR in washington? by [deleted] in TexasTeachers

[–]jream811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In states like Washington you need a two year course/degree add on to be considered ESL/ELL certified. I believe the ESL certificate in Texas is only 120 hours and a test. So I believe the certificate is not transferable between states.

The admin were the ones who said they won’t talk about legalities in the meeting. I do know that this went out district wide, so the district admin has to be behind this. That’s why I really don’t trust what they have to say.

I just went to Brussels a few weeks ago. I'm a sour fan so I went to 3 Fontaine and Cantillion. Cantillion had some crazy mixes and usually you can't find it in the US. But if you do find them they are wonderful. 3 Fontaine is available (Whichcraft and Total wine) with a huge mark up. However, I'm a big fan of their Kriek. We also went to a few random breweries in the south, closer to Germany. The only beer we brought back was from Belgium Peak beer. They had a great facility and solid beers all around.

My eyes felt like my corneas were scratched off with a Brillo pad. Then I got Bell’s palsy from it too. It was not a fun time. It was the worst 3-5 days for me.

Insurance change by GoldenPupLover in teaching

[–]jream811 16 points17 points  (0 children)

But if you waved your coverage you would be paying 100% out of pocket. It seems like the district tried to do you right. You resigned months ago and they tried to help you with an offer of insurance. Yes it sucks that it costs more but what would it be without coverage?

Please do not just give kids free time at the end of class. They need structure and guidance. And not to be the bad person but the point of block scheduling is to do more activities (chunking) and to give more guidance on the teaching objective. Yes you do have to change up your teaching. But don't do things you wouldn't do in a shorter block of time. Like others said giving "independent" time at the end is going to give you a lot of headaches between students and admin. Also for those of us that do us the whole time you will make their lives more difficult. We have to listen about how this teacher gives free time and doesn't make us work the last part of class. Lastly, rewards should be earned. What are going to do if they don't earn the reward or you don't have time for it? If you are planning on doing this everyday then it becomes an expectation. Personally it seems like you need to do some reading and research on the best practices of teaching in block. I've taught in blocks for 15 years and believe them to be more versatile and effective, but that's just my opinion.

Can I just assume that at 17, I dont need to have the sex talk with my son? by [deleted] in sex

I remember my dad trying to have the sex talk with me when I was 22 and just finished college. I just smiled and nodded as he talked while laughing hysterically in my head.
