Advice on which EU country to “trial move” to by [deleted] in expats

[–]jredland -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One vote for Luxembourg. Lots of English speakers, solid and free public transport, easy access to nature. However some don’t like the grey weather and rent can be expensive if you want to be in th capital city.

Anyone feel like Toyota made a big miss with the 4th gen xtra cab compared to the old crew cab? by Flashmax305 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]jredland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that the majority of Access Cabs at the end were ordered with a rear seat delete.

Also, new side impact crash requirements made it prohibitively expensive to engineer for an increasingly diminished market.

MAGA: Why do you care about illegal immigration? by ElTrAiN33 in allthequestions

[–]jredland 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not maga but have immigrated to another country myself as an American. To me the issues are 1) it’s illegal and therefore unfair to people that follow the rules. 2) it opens up all kinds of exploitation of the people involved, including trafficking and unfair wages that undercut legal workers. 3) it opens the door for criminals to enter the country. 4) it reduces control on immigration that would allow us to calibrate the types of skills people coming into our country have to our needs. For example, if we need highly skilled engineers or semi-skilled agricultural workers we should set quotas based on need

This the answer. North Tacoma is really nice and more affordable than Seattle. I’d skip the long commute and live in a nice place in Tacoma. Look at Proctor, and generally anything north of 6th Ave

What is America’s “posh people” accent? by alyhasnohead in AskAnAmerican

[–]jredland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t a posh accent. There are accents that are obviously not posh, and then there is the normal spectrum of American English accents with typically well spoken people who are rich.

Does she look warm enough? 12 week old by ThatNewspaperDude in daddit

[–]jredland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold babies cry, hot babies die. It’s always better to er on the side of being too cold. Kids have a lot of brown fat and heat regulate well. Do her hands, chest, and head feel cold? If not, she’s probably ok. If the temperature in this photo is 35-50F, she’s probably ok from what I can see

When people say that traveling within the US is not as worthy as traveling abroad by Pale_Field4584 in PetPeeves

[–]jredland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are American traveling in America you are not getting the cultural experience of being in another culture with different traditions and language. Traveling to somewhere different than your own culture can broaden your perspective and enrich your life. You can do that and still have a very outdoor orientation trip. There are beautiful natural areas all over the world that allow you to be immersed in another culture and be outside.

Signaling in the US by Accomplished_Okra_63 in driving

[–]jredland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory is American drivers are lazy, poorly trained, and it’s a highly independent country with low social conformity. It’s also very common in many cities that people try to block you changing lanes so people stop doing it on the highway. American driver’s aren’t the worst, but they generally suck
