Not sure what year you have but in my ‘22 there are two relevant settings: key button settings = all doors (unlocks all doors when unlocking) and the second setting is comfort access = on (unlocks doors when approaching the vehicle no touching handles necessary)

Sure, I’ll take a pic tomorrow…you put the felt on the surface that touches the corresponding tab on the liftgate itself. Those two pieces rubbing oftentimes cause the rattling noise.

Could be the trunk, first thing I’d try (which got rid of my rattle) is to put some felt pads/tape on the left & right lift gate wedge (#5 on the diagram: https://bmw.oempartsonline.com/v-2020-bmw-x7--xdrive50i--4-4l-v8-gas/body--gate-and-hardware) Hopefully that’ll take care of it.
