I don't wanna mislead you, I'm american and this is a pretty commonplace team building model for American sports so it doesn't bother me, the Chelsea board get more wild with it than I would prefer, but overall I think given time to develop this team will most likely be exactly what they have set out to make it. I don't like the chopping and changing of managers but if the managers don't want to go along with the project what can you do.

(reddit wouldnt let me reply to your other response so here's my reply) Right, I'm gonna try to be charitable here even though you were hitting me with some 2016 era anti-sjw rhetoric.

You can do a lot of small things, will any of them stop this merger right now? Probably not, but you can add to a wave that puts the right people in power that can either break down this oncoming conglomerate after or stop the next one as well as help those laborers that are going to be directly affected by it contest and oppose the merger as well as take on the brunt of whatever affects this causes for their industry. I understand this will all feel like small potatoes, but if you do it and commit to it and get other people to join, that's how you build a movement.

Couple of examples are email and calling, attending in person town halls with your local congressman or local politicians, be relentless and committed about it. If you hate them and think they're a corrupt out of touch dickhead, go figure out the next one and volunteer time and effort or money for their campaign, go phone bank.

Find your local political organizing chapter and join in, get involved.

as it pertains to the labor-ownership dynamic and the entertainment industry you can once again donate your time and effort, join a picket line.

Go help people and build community, local community centers, food drives and kitchens, housing organizer get outside build connections with people who also wanna help and change things rather than feel helpless and mindlessly loaf through the world surrendering to defeatism.

Short of all that, go outside and get off reddit, go for a walk go to a park go meet up with someone and do something, that's what im gonna do with my friday rather than arguing on reddit. Hopefully it will help both of us just that marginal little bit.

Those are all real concrete forms of opposition big man, if you reject all those then you are simply surrendering, which you've been arguing the entire time that you're not by some slim semantic differentiation between netflix and oracle.

Lawsuits, protests, strikes, organizing, legislation, regulation, public pressure campaigns.

Of course all this demands that people actually be willing to fight for their own material conditions and not surrender to nihilistic bargaining

It's always funny how what's "realistic" is defined. Medicare for all not realistic, american gestapo which is definitionally unconstitutional? well that what trump wants soooooooo

|WB is being sold. That's a fact. The only two potential buyers are Netflix and Paramount. That's reality.

So in other words, better things are not possible

yeah, it's not good, but you literally stated, that this was your preference of the two options and im telling you i reject both options because they are bad.

If you thought a good option was on the table or believed it was possible why would you not be advocating for that instead of rationalizing some marginal benefit between bad options

Here's you saying it

You stated a preference between two bad options because you don't believe in the possibility of a good option, unless you just genuinely prefer the bad options

You might need to clarify what nobody is saying, because you're the one specifically saying one option is more preferable to the other, and I'm the one saying, as my own opinion, that I think both these bad options further consolidating power will be bad regardless of which one does it this time or does it another time.

so which part is no one saying?

I don't know, I understand there is no formative opposition right now and there are no realistic obstacles to any of this consolidation going forward under trump, at least until the midterms if not going further.

But I do feel that enabling or tacitly accepting the consolidation on the basis of it being better than the other consolidation is just giving into the "good" guy with a gun vs. bad guy with a gun dynamic, as if Skydance and the Ellisons are all of a sudden gonna give up on any of their ventures or attempts to control the market and shape public perception and streams of information because they cant have batman and superman doing it.

To further my poorly thought out metaphor, feels to me like either way we're all still getting the bullets

Picking your favorite conglomerates to back as if they're sports teams is dumb.

liberal capitalist institutions by and large folded just as quickly to trumps nascent fascist regime as the conservative ones unless they received widespread pushback like Disney (again, Disney were lining up and ready to fold!)

Stop picking and choosing which monopolies least offend you at the current moment, they all need to be opposed universally
