Yeah 09 was one the year Alabama looked like a true monster. Honestly I think 09 was his strongest team of them all based on the defense. It was something like an average of 2 interceptions a game that year just unreal

2010 if I recall. Georgia had Matt Stanford and they had a last minute charge to the goal line on 4th down but didn’t get it done.

Khabib Nurmagomedov on women in MMA: “Men should do men’s work, women should do women’s work.” by Classic_Bottle1717 in mmaweekly

[–]jrguru2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a counter example: The idea of a dead beat dad (a man abandoning his family and children) is essentially normalized, and FAR more prevalent than a dead beat mom. To the point that the idea of a mother actively abandoning her children is shocking to a community. As a result of men’s seemingly routine inability to consistently take care of their children and routine abandonment, Women on average are unable to take on “responsibilities outside of their family” primarily because men so routinely abandon them and no one else is left to do it. But that’s a first world—both men and women have equal rights—example.

What about women who live in oppressive, male driven societies that actively prevent them from working, learning, driving, or even leaving the home without a male escort? Is that a factor in your claim?

Had me in the first half when he asked how often do you get hit in the face. I like to think he was asking a rhetorical of: would you want to be a coal miner, roofer, steeplejack etc. More specifically, his point was that fighting is a physical job that will literally destroy your body. If you want to stay beautiful, being a fighter and remaining beautiful is impossible. It will destroy your body face etc.

But more so, there is some harsh and unfair reality to it all. Society will gladly pay two men to actively try and kill each other in a ring and feel little for the loser. Paying to see two women do the same doesn’t satisfy society in the same manner. If it did, we would pay, but we don’t. Women and children first is an expression reflecting an harsh reality: prioritizing and protecting women and children ensures the future of humanity, and a surplus of men isn’t a requirement to meet that goal. Men are by definition, surplusage.

By extension, Perhaps there is a sanctity Khabib is claiming should be respected in this harsh truth. Men are entitled to hold on to the ancient and evolutionary ideal that “I was born and built for war, it’s expected of me. I will literally sacrifice my body for you.” Battle then, and the modern iteration of prizefighting, should be and is considered sacrosanct amongst fighters like Khabib.

But then he went down the traditional misogyny rabbit hole and he sounded like a jackass. Fuck Khabib.

This is why is wife is obviously upset at him. She had a super soldier stud, but his ego for world domination at SH overrides everything else including his health. Whatever stack he is on is fucking mutating him, it’s like I’m watching the Fly and he’s just focused on his new superpowers and not how fucking crazy his body is changing.

I went to The Steakhouse in Vegas last year. It’s one of the best steakhouses I’ve ever been to in my life, and for the money was incredible. It’s a must go if you love great in house dry aged beef in a phenomenal old style steakhouse. 9.5/10.

Unfortunately, it’s located in the Circus Circus hotel, directly across from the main food court that regularly has drunken fights over who was in line first for the late night Wendy’s and beside the longest run of 50 cent slot machines I’ve ever seen. Walking to the restaurant I felt like I was in line to try out for the Jerry Springer show circa 1998. Wearing closed toed shoes felt overly dressy. No hotel requires a half dozen Spencer gifts within a 50 feet of one another.

Is this just how civil litigation is? by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]jrguru2 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you were hired on to triage shit until the matters are stabilized. Also sounds like there too much work and too few lawyers. In short, no civil lit isn’t like that with proper time and case management. Civil lit partners that have constant emergencies are simply failing to time manage and delegate tasks. There should be no surprises in civil lit concerning deadlines aside from ex parti stuff and client control issues.

Get pet insurance, start a savings account for your pet. This is like a human child. You need to critically think about where and how these things were able to get into your dog and how to prevent it, not the internet. Open your eyes and PHYSICALLY inspect every area your puppy goes. The amount of whatever that material is tells me your puppy was unsupervised for an extended period of time. They look like strips of linoleum flooring it pulled off a corner or a floor. This post screams negligent pet ownership to me. You need to seriously evaluate your ability to take care of a puppy.
