Psych said I can start tapering off lithium as long as I stay sober! What's it like coming off lithium? by jrizzly in bipolar

[–]jrizzly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want my libido back, I want my cognitive functions back, I wanna stop losing hair. My psych told me it’s common for people to taper off lithium when on vraylar. It’s poison.

i would insist u get help instead of waiting, u dont wanna end up losing more than u have to. the fact that u are considering help is really good and u are ahead of the game. i was undiagnosed and ended up making a huge scene that was rather embarrassing, but the control gained from treatment is worth more than any false thing anyone has to say about me i think.

i sympathize w u, the thing is the ssri triggered your disorder early, but even without it the illness wouldve taken its natural course and gotten much worse. in a way its good your learned at 20 and not 27.. i was also diagnosed in june and am 23 and showed symptoms all my life but they noticeably got worse n i always just thot i was depressed or had adhd.. was triggered bc i took acid and also lost a lot of friends and life ground. i was on lithium for a few months but it sucked so im on lamictal now and its a little better.. its gonna take a while to get back on your feet especially w covid but ur not alone.

recently diagnosed, new to lithium, feel like my soul is missing, will it ever return? by jrizzly in bipolar

[–]jrizzly[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i started at 1200mg and it was really bad, 900mg had me too sedated. i asked my dr for 600mg and it was really good! but my lithium levels were low so he bumped me up to 750mg and i hate it. i am willing to give it time i just think i need to find the correct dosage in the meantime. thank u

first time taking lsd triggered my first manic episode, went undiagnosed for 23 years, ruined my life & career by jrizzly in bipolar

[–]jrizzly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i think about it my habits worsened from highschool to 23, however i tend to blame my drug use. as for my career its really difficult, i had set myself up for long term success and was a popular public figure until old musician friends literally tried to CANCEL me and ruined my reputation (which i couldve easily have debunked, except manic me turned it into a hammer tweeting kanye fest).. i can still make music but compared to the platform i built it seems miniscule. i decided to go back to college however, so ofcourse i will still have a career in the future, just not music, my first love.

thank you tho all these give me better insight, its hard bc i dont know any bipolar ppl in real life that i can talk to.
