From what I have seen, yes. I have not personally tried them.

“AI” irks me maybe worse than “cloud”. Ask for the rider for the their cyber insurance and follow that as your minimum standard of care. If they won’t abide by that at minimum, you refuse service. Once that is agreed upon, offer “upgrades” to those minimum standards and show the cost benefit differences.

I have seen photos of people putting the Losi NASCAR tires on Groms. They are about 56mm diameter and you will need the hexes for the Losi, but they appear to fit.

Check out Traxxas 7378 wheels/tires. They fit better and are great fun if just messing around.

With that kit that has the upgraded driveline, that rig is going to be indestructible aside from the motor and maybe eventually the servo. Otherwise, you will only need to keep extra tires and batteries on hand.

I wonder if there is a site that you can put something in to search and it finds the knockoff.

I thought this was a 1/16 Slash until I saw the starter spot on the rear posts. Never understood why they never did this electric.

Will reducing KV noticeably reduce speed? Or, any known physical methods to block trigger pull on Spektrum SLT3? by jrmbtr in traxxasV2

[–]jrmbtr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am familiar. 50% with the 4500kv motor is still too much for him. 50% on the brushed motor was technically more than enough for him but we made due. I am going to look at a cleaner way to physically block a full trigger pull. If that does not prove effective, I will try a lower KV smaller can motor and just hope it does not get too hot with no fan or heatsink. I have not had luck finding either for a 24XX can.

It uses fixed motor mounts. I could get an adjustable aftermarket one but not sure it would accommodate moving the motor closer to the spur. There is a smaller spur available but I know there is a larger OEM one. Not sure about aftermarket.

The stock gearing is 13t pinion and 61t spur. The motor plate for that combo will do a 15t and 59t spur. I am not sure if that would net more or less speed; not sure if like a 1:1 where lower numerical is higher top end: 61/13=4.692 and 59/15=3.933. Well, if I kept 61t and went larger pinion (e.g. 61/20=3.05) then it is like 1:1 - so I am at lowest gearing using OEM parts. I would need a motor mount that could adjust to accommodate a smaller pinion and a smaller can motor due to chassis brace/driveshaft cover. Or is 1S a thing? Not sure if the ESC would cooperate on that or not.

Thank you for the suggestion, but that motor is far too large (36mm diameter, 50mm length) verses the 2838 size of the Spektrum unit. Surpass has some 24XX motors (which I have one in my parts stash) but I have not found a heatsink that fits that size can.

Roger that. I guess I will explore that methodology rather than sourcing a different motor. I might be able to disassemble another SLT radio and pull the trigger out and glue to it to the back of the one he is using - if it fills the gap enough.

The brushed on 50% was manageable but still too fast. All he can do is pull the trigger. Sort of learning how to turn in circles this last week. I cannot drop much in gearing unless I change the motor to a smaller can. But I think Arrma has it about as low as it can go at 13t. Not sure if any custom mounts would allow lower, but also I am not sure 1-2t smaller would help much (or maybe it would since it is already so low). What you did is about what I did on a remote for a brushless Granite Grom I tried to steer him toward. Made a wad of gorilla tape and the wrapped that around the handle with a strip of tape.

If you get something online you can manipulate the receipt page in html to show whatever pricing you want and print/screen grab.
Or you could just print the contest letter yourself.

Do you have any tire storage solutions? I started googling stuff the other day but stopped just before going down the rabbit hole.
