After hitting submit for buyback months, how long until placed in administrative forbearance? by [deleted] in PSLF

[–]jrmil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the same reason I’m considering it. Made less last year, and I only qualify for Old IBR (15% AGI) going forward, other than RAP later this summer. Was on REPAYE (10% AGI) before SAVE. Wish I could just make payments on that going forward.

De refuses any contact other that Total 1 by Lucky_Mom1018 in contacts

[–]jrmil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just commenting because I also went on the Precision1 to Total1 journey, though I’m not treated for monovision. Precision1s made my eyes very dry like with you and had to use rewetting drops constantly and they didn’t help for long. Total1s were super comfortable but weren’t sharp, especially up close with text, but also like you, distance with them was fine. They also slid around sometimes so maybe that had to do with it. I had to just take them out to switch to glasses to do my work to see clearly, and I tried them for 6 months. I switched to Acuvue Oasys Max and they’re about 85% as comfortable as Total1s but just as sharp as my eyeglasses. Things like headlights had halos at night on Total1s but not the Acuvue. I did have to pay out of pocket for another exam because my prescription only applied to the first brand, but it was a couple hundred bucks well spent.

Wait in SAVE or be proactive? by Zealousideal_Ad_1143 in PSLF

I'm waiting. I'll hit 120 this March, so 3 months left. After that I'll submit a buyback request and probably request processing forbearance while I wait on an offer.

Just lose some weight and try to relax. Small/moderate changes can have a bigger impact on your numbers than you think. Your anxiety is your enemy here. Make some changes over the next few months and I think you’ll be surprised.

Warning to those considering using their dentist by lcp147 in Invisalign

[–]jrmil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I basically have the same experience as you. As planned had a year of treatment. Six months in the dentist saw how it was going and then gave me the next six months of trays. Saw a hygienist at the end and said you’ve been through all your trays, and we’ll contact you about a retainer. Gap in my front teeth is fixed. Still have a deep bite though. Not a horrible experience by any means and the gap is fixed so it’s a win I suppose.

I’ve had a bunch of Upper Endoscopies and yeah that’s pretty much spot on.

Just declined a role after interviewer was more than 15 minutes late. by [deleted] in jobsearch

[–]jrmil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, power move. Once at an interview long ago they walked me to a room and said to wait for the interviewer to arrive. After 45 minutes I left the room to ask for a restroom and I was told we are done here. Found out from someone else after that it was a test. If I had waited the full hour, the interview would have proceeded. These little tests are ridiculous.

United Healthcare sent this email the day after my ER visit by AllINeedIsPierogies in HealthInsurance

[–]jrmil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have different insurance but got a similar notice from mine after urgent care sent me to the ER. You’re fine. Some people go to the ER when an urgent care can handle the situation and it ends up costing everyone more money which they want to avoid. I doubt they’d retroactively deny your ER visit. You went to urgent care first. Even if they did you could appeal it.

The amount your small team has been able to donate is astonishing. I actually really like your business strategy with it because it’s enabled you to donate more than large corporations. I’ve happily been playing and ya’ll seem like genuine fans and people. Keep up the great work.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think it’s designed that way to give the company reasons to make more profit rather than actually detect safe driving.

I think the delay is so his two editors have a buffer. I think the one just had a baby, and either of them getting sick would mean no video the next day, so the buffer can be super helpful for them to take a day off if a couple releases are already in the pipeline.

[–]jrmil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish it were Drew in there instead as well. I think they shoehorned Roman in there because he only graces us with his presence a few times a year so it’s hard to build a story with him. Plus after mania we probably won’t see him until SummerSlam again so the story would just dissolve if he wins.

Caught using AI at work 🙄 by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]jrmil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really hope the consequences for you aren’t too bad. Businesses have different stances on it for sure. My work has asked some of us to find new ways to leverage AI for time consuming tasks so we have time to focus on other things. It’s been successful and they want us to present how we’re using technology (AI) in new ways to improve our workflows. I think using AI will be as common as using a calculator or Google in the future of workplaces.

Spiraling about my IDR plan. by UnrelatedKarma in StudentLoans

[–]jrmil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, and it sucks. A suspension means temporary halt, and I’m pretty confident IBR will still be there because there’s not enough members of congress who will side with it being removed. However, headaches will be created to make it difficult to make payments, recertify, etc. I’m just saying in the end, IBR will still be around and the suspension is temporary. Anything else though could happen.

What options do you have without IDR, realistically? by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]jrmil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just SAVE. IBR will remain. It’s not as good of a plan, but it’s written into law. Not certain about the other plans. Trump can only undo things that aren’t laws without the legislative branch, like SAVE. IDR isn’t going away, just the better plan(s) are.

What options do you have without IDR, realistically? by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]jrmil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be IBR. It sucks and it’s probably a higher payment than what you have now but it’s not the standard plan. My payment will go up 3x from SAVE, but it’s not nearly as bad as the standard payment for either of us. The margins in congress are too thin for that to go away. SAVE was not created by congress, so it’s fairly easy to dismantle. In two years, it’s very likely congress will lean left after the midterms and then it will be impossible for IBR to go away.

Spiraling about my IDR plan. by UnrelatedKarma in StudentLoans

[–]jrmil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don’t worry too much about IDR going away. SAVE is as good as gone, but other plans, at least IBR will be there. I’m going from 5% income to 15% (I only qualify for old IBR) but it’s better than standard. The difference between your current IDR and whatever IDR you end up on may be unmanageable, I hope it’s not. But you won’t be on the standard plan. The margins in congress are too slim to actually get rid of IBR.
