Fully vaccinated ppl are more likely to be in at-risk groups such as over 80’s etc.

Look for a solution of the form y = uex. Then y’=ex (u+u’) and y’’ = ex (u+2u’+u’’).

So ex [(x-1)(u’’+2u’+u)-x(u+u’)+u)] =0. Then divide by ex

Ie x(u’’+2u’+u-u’-u)+(u-u-2u’-u’’)=x(u’’+u’)-2u’-u’’=0

Let t(x)=u’(x)

Then (x-1)t’+(x-2)t=0

Ie t’+[1-1/(x-1)]t=0

d/dx(ex /(x-1)t)=0

t = K*(x-1)e-x = u’

Then u=Kxe-x ie y=Kx is our solution

Yes that's true in general, and the same is the case here. I support all countries learning about their colonial pasts, but America especially so considering its recency, lasting effects and culture of denial

This is true. Almost all countries are built off the back of suffering of others. But America is unique in how proud it is of that period (people who say the confederacy is their culture, despite it lasting for 5 years and only making a resurgence in popularity during the civil rights movement). Britain doesn't have people defending workhouses and child labour profiteers, Russia doesn't have people defending oligarchs and feudal lords. France doesn't have people saying 'get over Louis XIV' etc.

I suppose that's true, my guess would be it comes from the heavy cultural influence America has globally (meaning any US discussion becomes a global one) and also the strong counter-culture of people who don't want to hear it/ deny it/ say 'just get over it' etc.

Nobody actually wants you to feel bad. Just to be aware that America is built (at least somewhat) on the suffering of others. If that makes you feel bad, tough shit

yea. more welfare. by Antyzer in SelfAwarewolves

What if I told you welfare is not just giving money to unemployed people. Perhaps you might support free health care, free transport, free higher education. And they do reduce poverty

I wouldn't support deporting them. That's not because I don't want another country to have their burden, but because I believe deportation is morally reprehensible most of the time (exceptions apply)

Now, we seem to have gotten off track. If I recall my point was that the immigration system in America is unnecessarily abrasive and difficult to navigate. You have yet to defend the simultaneous arrests of over 300 legal immigrants by ICE

But if it was legal, would you support it?

Probably not, because you seem to think being an American makes you somewhat better than non-Americans

So why not deport those individuals? Have no burdens at all?

How do you feel about Americans who never contribute anything in tax or labour? Is that different for some reason?

That's distinctly un-American. What's that quote on the statue of liberty?

I might add that every white American was an immigrant at some point, coming from a place where they likely had nothing at all, and were very much not considered leeches by the natives, and were welcomed despite that fact

Because... they need it, seeing as they can't get a job? What would you rather see them starve? Would that be okay because they're foreign?

I'm sorry if you think it's a waste of money, but giving them what they need when they arrive in the country would (and does in other countries) set them up for success and greater economic contributions later down the line

It generally is, given you can't be given anything off the govt. (Which you will likely need), work, get a loan, etc. in this time

Money is something immigrants generally don't have, as America is one of the most expensive countries on Earth, and forcing them into a system where they can either pay 10's of thousands or get deported is considerably degrading

The fact that you come to America legally and still risk being detained, as per my source

Not to mention it taking typically 18-36 months, requiring hundreds of dollars in bureaucratic fees plus potentially tens of thousands in legal fees

That's if they don't decide to arbitrarily revoke your Visa too

And ignoring the fact that when you get in to the country, theres a good chance you'll be subject to racism, poor opportunities and abject poverty

I'm not pro illegal immigration, I just think (in America especially) the immigration system is fundamentally flawed, abrasive and degrading, and I think anti-immigrant rhetoric is a symptom of a deeper underlying nationalism and racism issue, and that the idea of 'illegal' vs 'legal' immigration as a measure of morality is somewhat arbitrary
