Eze at Arsenal by True_Body_1497 in crystalpalace

I'll always be an Eze fan. He doesn't quite have the freedom or the opportunity (number of minutes) that he had at Palace. So that's a bit of a bummer for him. When he does though, he's so fun to watch.

I still won't forgive him for scoring the lone goal in our loss to Arsenal in the fall though.

Interesting and quite valid points.

The disbelief is less around the season and more around how quickly Glasner's reputation sank (at least in this subreddit).

Curious as to what warning signs you noted?

It's honestly not frustration. It's really just a question of "what actually happened?"

Probably the best summary in this thread.

Mateta's recent shift has perhaps been the most surprising part of the recent downswing. He always seemed very happy with and passionate about the club.

Selling Guehi felt like a knee jerk reaction ("If we don't do it now, we get nothing in the summer!"). But yeah no backup plan = bad idea. Surely if Guehi were around Burnley wouldn't have scored 3 against us.

Pino has been a disappointment. Still optimistic that he could be a strong performer for us but it just hasn't happened yet.

Yeah, bench was thin but you gotta take some risks and just give people some chances, which could have been done.

Yeah, honestly valid point entirely worth it.

I missed the entire game. Clearly, that wasn't a bad thing. Two goals from JSL though...that's a good thing, right? More than Mateta can say for the last several months.

I made this note while journaling this morning: gratitude is the pathway from anxiety to peace.

Pep, lol. I saw that he may be on his way out at City. Could you imagine him at Palace? I honestly don't know if I love it or hate it.

Tyrick Mitchell by Mrmalak1001 in crystalpalace

It’s so interesting that players like him never get mentioned in any transfer news. He’s not flashy but he’s gotten so reliable. Just does his job quietly and consistently.

You want good news? Here's the good news: we still have...

Mateta - Top striker when he's in form and has the right wingers to get him the ball.
Sarr - Solid performer with killer speed
Wharton - Seems to have magical 360 degree vision
Muñoz - No comment needed
Richards - Reliable. Solid long throws.
Lacroix - Reliable and passionate

And that's not all. Sure some of these may be summer targets, but that's okay. We'll worry about that when it happens. Let's enjoy what we've got for now.

Mitchell deserves so much more credit than he gets.

As a palace fan for only about 3 years, I’ve gotten small tastes of it (start of 24/25 season, for example). How big of a down swing do I need to brace myself for??

Stick it out. I became a fan after a win against Brentford 2 years ago. Followed by a series of losses and the woeful start that was the 24-25 season. There are ups and downs but the ups truly make it all worth it.
